  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 10:24 AM) MLB Trade Rumors ‏@mlbtraderumors 2m David Price Wouldn't Sign Extension With Mariners http://dlvr.it/4V2Mnz #mlb He must hate the Rays
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 08:07 AM) No, because Samardzija is a better pitcher He is? Santiago owned a better ERA, ERA+, H/9, and WAR last season and is 3 years younger. Seems to me, if Santiago cuts down on his walks, he will be a much better pitcher than Samardzija.
  3. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 08:05 PM) Considering Lowrie's 13 numbers and would be dealing with Billy Beane, I'm thinking it would take alot. Brett Lawrie is on the Blue Jays
  4. I am all aboard the Lawrie train as well. Not sure we have what it takes to get that done, but I would definitely go for it.
  5. Now that they've acquired Adam Eaton, the White Sox will listen to offers on fellow outfielder Alejandro De Aza, CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports (via Twitter). The Giants have already asked about De Aza, tweets John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle.
  6. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 07:29 PM) While I am happy we are expected to stay active, is anyone else worried they are downplaying the catcher position? I would rather go into the season with a potential long time starting catcher and Gillaspinger than what we have at catcher and an upgrade at 3B. Im ok with seeing if either will pan out, catcher isnt really a position you see a ton of production from anyways. We need a drastic improvement at 3B though.
  7. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 06:18 PM) Somehow people have totally begun to stop appreciating Johnson's ceiling. He could be what we normally call a number 2 starter. I don't get it either. I think he will develop into, at the very least, a nice #3 with the ceiling of being a very good #2.
  8. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 05:41 PM) Aside from delusional Cub fans I still don't see why people think the Garza deal was such a haul. I think a lot of people saw Olt's name, saw that he was ranked highly, and did no research after that
  9. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 05:18 PM) Told Sox still hoping to leave meetings with a significant upgrade at 3B. It's getting real. Lots of names exchanged. How significant we talking?
  10. So with today's news, the picture becomes a little clearer: Eaton Semien? Abreu Dunn Garcia Viciedo Alexei Phegley Beckham/2B FA
  11. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 03:49 PM) I'm fine with the Santiago for Eaton idea but what I'm not fine with is management's idea that this is our big move. (KW said this will definitely excite fans) Agreed with the poster above, you were our big move. Eaton is a complementary piece on a good team and a good building block for this teams future. I think moving forward with Abreu, Garcia, and Eaton at the top of our lineup is something to be very excited about as a Sox fan.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 03:37 PM) I still dont think they are going to do anything with Catcher, I think two more vet bats in the MI and maybe 3B Seems like a lot of loading up in the MI unless there are more trades to come
  13. I would trade whoever nets you a better catching prospect between ADA and Viciedo.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 02:47 PM) As much as De Aza does stupid things, I hope the Sox find a trade for Viciedo that makes sense. I think he's terrible. Same, I cant stand watching him play baseball
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 01:44 PM) Im hearing the same thing, Pujols and Dunn are both in it You made my heart stop for a second there
  16. This really needs to go through soon, my work day productivity is taking a major hit right now
  17. QUOTE (kapzk @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 11:34 AM) How about sending De Aza to Dbacks for Davidson to fill the void in CF with Eaton leaving. They have Pollock
  18. Would love it if Hahn could swoop out Eaton and Davidson somehow
  19. Kinda hoping they get something in addition to Eaton as that is a somewhat underwhelming return, but he is a solid baseball player
  20. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 09:01 AM) That's a great idea actually Ya I like that a lot
  21. @Buster_ESPN: The Phillies have indicated to other teams they are ready and willing to talk about Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels in trades.
  22. QUOTE (wardo @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 07:31 AM) Not at all. And i'm just using the Cubs as an example. I think that is a realistic return because although he has been an ace and is very controllable, there are a lot of question marks with him. His mechanics are unorthodox, and he's still young. You don't know in a few years if his arm will give out and he will continue to have his current success. Plus a team is not going to give every one of their major-league ready prospects for one guy. Honestly if i was Hahn i'd look to move him right now, when the demand for him is probably higher than it ever will be. I just don't think the return is going to be as much as expected, and fans will be upset. Nothing about your argument makes sense. Sale is a known commodity, he has performed at an elite level since entering the league. If anything, the question marks are Shark and Soler. The haul for Sale would be unprecedented, if you think it'll be anything else you just aren't paying attention. Hahn isn't dumb, he isn't going to move an elite LHP ace for scraps. You really sound like a Cubs fan.
  23. QUOTE (wardo @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 01:49 AM) Don't think the return for Sale would net as much as we'd like to think. Realistically I think Sale could net something like this Cubs acquire: Chris Sale White Sox acquire: Jeff Samardzija, Jorge Soler, low level pitching prospect Cubs fan or something? That's awful

    fake rumor

    @JoeISherman: Appears #Phillies sending Dom Brown to #WhiteSox for Jose Quintana. Also close to signing Nelson Cruz. Busy night for GM Ruben Amaro.
