  1. I was wrong about you, you can, in fact, be a starter in the MLB again. Gordon looks great this season and I'm really hoping he gets the lions share of starts from now on.
  2. Alexei has really fallen off a cliff, he is worthless out there
  3. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 10:48 AM) Apparently the Sox are hosting a pre draft workout at US Cellular Field. Jim Callis ‏@jimcallisMLB 19m19 minutes ago Had I known the @WhiteSox were staging a predraft workout this morning, I would have headed to U.S. Cellular Field even earlier! Oh well. As in an open workout or invite with a couple first rounders?
  4. I wonder how KW is feeling about this team after a 15-2 drubbing
  5. That collision is bad
  6. People keep saying Shark will get traded, but he wont net nearly anything as valuable as his comp pick, so no point in dealing him. Also, it must be f***ing awesome having position prospects to look forward to.
  7. "That had to be the easiest 4 outs Colby has ever gotten" -Rangers announcers
  8. QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 07:26 PM) Give me shuck in the outfield and avi at dh while Abreu is out. Please. I can't take this. And take the mighty Conor Gillaspie out? I don't think so buddy
  9. I thought people said LaRoche was good at first?
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 03:46 PM) Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 4m4 minutes ago No Abreu in tonight's starting lineup Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan 3m3 minutes ago Jose Abreu (finger) still out tonight. Gillaspie at DH, Beckham at third. Soto catching Samardzija. Comcast SportsNet ‏@CSNChicago 37m37 minutes ago Jose Abreu plans to return to @whitesox lineup tomorrow - http://bit.ly/1d7BpDZ Guess not....
  11. Harris coming in at 25 in BA's final pre-draft ranking: http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft-preview/ He would definitely be an underslot candidate, but if people are thinking there are not going to be a ton of signability issues, it makes no sense to go underslot in the first round.
  12. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 10:49 AM) Adding Shark to that mix would be nice, but I just don't see him staying. He's going to get so much more $$ on the open market. He'd be nuts not to test free agency. In that case, I hope the Sox are entertaining trade offers this season because that comp pick wont be ready for a few years and I dont see Fulmer stepping into the rotation the way Rodon did.
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 10:39 AM) For sure. The Twins are loaded. But if Fulmer falls to the Sox, I'd be content with a rotation of Sale, Quintana, Rodon, and Fulmer for the next 6 years. That stacks up with nearly everyone. Sox don't have near the amount of position players, but would have an outstanding rotation going forward. No Shark in your future plans?
  14. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 1, 2015 -> 04:23 PM) Saying "I hope RV has the flexibility to move Melky from the #2 hole this season" got me absolutely torched in March. I think it's a move that needs to be made. I hate losing Abreu at bats but he hasn't been playing to his ability anyways. I'd go with this lineup until Abreu starts rolling again. L Eaton R Garcia L LaRoche R Abreu S Cabrera L/R Gillaspie/Beckham R Alexei R Soto S Sanchez Also, when do we start giving Soto more of the starts? We've given Flowers 1100+ PAs to show he's mediocre. I say Flowers starts for Sale, Soto starts for Samardzija/Rodon, and Soto starts for every LHP. Soto has been so hot and cold up (game-to-game) I think some regularity could get him finding that potential we were excited about when he was signed. He makes a lot more hard contact. I am sucker for this kind of stuff and it's not tangbile but I like the way he carries himself too. I know the team raves about Flowers' makeup but you kind of have to when he doesn't do anything well. Soto is attached to Rodon during his starts, gets pumped for his pitchers (Samardzija especially) when they hit their spots and I saw him with his arm around Sanchez after he recorded his third out of the game. Again, not a deciding factor, but Soto is definitely a plus in the clubhouse. I think I like that lineup quite a bit more than currently constructed
  15. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 1, 2015 -> 01:12 PM) Eaton, Melky and LaRoche are all showing signs of life. Avi has been awesome. Abreu has been above average, but we know he can adjust to the league. Conor and Gordon need to start strictly platooning. You hope Alexei pulls his head out of his ass. One of Sanchez or Johnson can figure out how to hit and defend. Finally, trading for a catcher. While I agree that Eaton and LaRoche are playing better, Melky is showing absolutely no signs of life. His May line is .220/.258/.260 and he is .242/.242/.303 over his last 7. He's been a very big reason this offense has been awful this season. Very clearly off the juice.
  16. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 31, 2015 -> 11:43 AM) I know you're just saying you'd like that but I think we can safely limit the Sox to college pitchers. Stephenson's swing is vicious though. Unfortunately, it seems like Harris is their backup plan which sucks for me. Not to throw out a lazy, convenient comparison but he's more of a Broadway/McCulloch type than someone we could get really excited about. Both Kiley McDaniel have alluded to Harris being the back up if Jay/Fulmer (probably were't considering Tate sliding which I still see as remote) there at #8. Law also amped up the Sox-Jay connection last week. Even insinuated that Colorado could craft their offer to Jay around the Sox slot value plus a kicker. This is very real scenario. All depends on what Texas is doing in my mind. They've been hush-hush and could go with any of Bregman/Cameron/Tate. Nothing is ever set in the draft but it seems like your first three picks, with Swanson/Rodgers being interchangeable, are close to consensus at this point. That Harris pick would be incredibly underwhelming, but I've heard murmurs about it as well
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2015 -> 11:14 AM) And the big thing that I have learned is that the AL Central may well be the best division in baseball. 100% the best division in baseball As for the current state of this team. I think their pitching is at the beginning of a stretch of dominance and if they can figure out how to actually score some runs, they are a decent to good team. They put themselves in a big hole though, and Im not sure they can jump 2-3 teams in the central to get a wild card.
