  1. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 01:37 PM) Is this the thread that we should post in once the draft starts or will there be a new thread to post in? Yes, the other will be a locked thread with info on picks
  2. QUOTE (jdupps @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 10:20 AM) I like how you are thinking about this and would be ecstatic if the SOX made that deal. But if I was making decisions for Colorado I'd want Sale or Rodon for the 24 year old budding superstar Arenado. Rodon for Arenado ....mmmmmmmmmmmmm????? maybe. I'd consider that trade as well
  3. Current personal ranks: 1.) Fulmer 2.) Jay 3.) Happ
  4. The only way I am trading Quintana is for a guy like Nolan Arenado. Way too valuable to this organization to dump for prospect unknowns.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 11:35 PM) Just the idea of calling Gillaspie and Beckham "good hitters" right now says all you need to about this season. Gordon, despite how good things look right now....is just an 0/12 away from .250. That said, he's definitely been one of the top 3 hitters on the team over the road trip, if not #1. Well that's just the point, he is a good hitter right now. If he went 0-12, that wouldn't be right now.
  6. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 11:01 PM) Yeah I'm not sure why they are saving their best pitcher for a hope of a save at some point in the later innings B/c Robin Ventura, why the f*** else?
  7. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 10:50 PM) Eaton and cabrerra are really the main issue right now. Neither are on base enough to affect defensive shifts against abreu and laroche. The rest of the team is fine. Not sure why people continue to say Eaton is a problem he is hitting .275/.345/.451 over the last month
  8. Serious question: why hasn't Melky been sat for a game or 2 for Shuck?
  9. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 09:59 PM) He's a rule 5 pick. It's early, but looking like one of the best in recent history. That's right, thanks
  10. Didn't DeShields get DFAd last season at some point? Thought I remember that
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 09:29 PM) Garbage season for Melky. 2nd worst player in MLB by WAR
  12. Fantastic start, let him hang his hat on that and take him out.
  13. Rodon is gonna be absolutely ridiculous when he gets that third pitch down
  14. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 08:34 PM) 7 Ks Imagine how many he'd have if he was having a good night
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 08:29 PM) I really think we need to change up the lineup a bit. Give Beckham & Soto the bulk of playing time at 3B & C, while moving Melky down in the lineup. 1. Eaton, CF 2. Beckham, 2B 3. Abreu, 1B/DH 4. LaRoche, DH/1B 5. Avi Garcia, RF 6. Melky Cabrera, LF 7. Ramirez, SS 8. Soto, C 9. Carlos Sanchez, 2B I'd be down for that
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 07:30 PM) His slider velocity's only 85 too (usually it's upper 80's)...fastball and slider just not as crisp as usual. Got a K, though. Lololololol. Just not that crisp. Lolololol.
  17. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 12:15 PM) You keep saying this but I think there's a very good chance a lot of teams go under slot (AZ, Houston, Colorado, our Sox) in the top ten. Outside of the first few picks, you don't hear much about going under slot. It still happens all the time. You're not going to hear the "Sox are going to go underslot at #8" because A.) they're too far down to know what's going to be on the board and B.) they're not going to show their hand on who they want. Arizona on the other hand you'll hear all about it because they have the whole field. This draft lost the best college pitcher in Matuella, they lost the best prospect in Aiken, they lost a top 5-10 guy in Nathan Kirby, they lost a great HS arm in Kolby Allard. This is a draft that is filled with pitchers with no promise to start and position players in HS. It might be the worst in the century. 2000 is the only draft I've heard being on scale in regards to lack of talent. What we have to understand is the 8th best player in this draft is not worth the 8th pool slot. These slots mean a lot less than they did last year. Teams don't look at the slot values as true, this a market and they will evaluate player X on what he would be in all drafts, not this one. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw 4-6 teams go under slot in the top ten. I think AZ, HOU and Colorado are a lock to do so. Law is a pawn!!!! 5 million is the number supposedly. I almost wouldnt mind them offering him underslot then and getting the 9th pick next year if he doesnt sign
  18. Any updates on Anderson?
  19. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 09:09 AM) TBH, I'm willing to accept a dropoff in defense in exchange for not relegating Abreu to the DH role so early in his career Dont worry, Avi will be assuming that role as soon as LaRoche leaves
