So the Twins get another injury plagued starter and the so-called experts reckon they are a shoe-in for the AL Central. Meanwhile, Soxtalk aren't happy because we never traded a low end prospect for Joc. TBH, I think they are seeing how Mazara does this season and if that doesn't work, then they'll pick up Joc in free agency next season.

It was a very bizarre interview. Reading beneath the lines, I reckon Cole and the Sox have signed or at least have a verbal agreement and the play is for Cole to go on the podcast to try and put pressure on Zach Wheeler to sign. It's all very strange indeed. I don't get why a free agent who has no connections with the Sox would go on the Sox podcast.

There are lessons here in trading for 1 year rentals. We traded Semien away for Samardija in the hope he would sign. He did not sign and Semien went on to become an MVP finalist this year. Let's not make the same mistake. Also, I know it's not the same but the trade of Tatis for a short term rental of James Shields will forever haunt us.

I honestly don't see Hahn signing Rendon. For him to do that, he would have to either put Moncada in the outfield (moving again would not be beneficial to his development) or putting him to DH and I just can't see him doing either, especially not for Rendon's cost and the other areas of need in the team. I'd be surprised to see Rendon in Sox uniform in 2020.

I just counted 13 as well and that was without even thinking. You could probably add another 6 or 7 to that list as well and that is guys like Leury and Yolmer who are good utility and bench players but will probably end up being redundant once the farm starts to produce.

The sensible move here would be to shut him down until after the All-Star break, give him time to heal.
