Another topic entirely, but that is a big problem with the world and perhaps specifically the U.S.

Maggs is always puzzling in that regard because he seems to have made a brilliant career by taking very different approaches to different pitchers,hence the low k totals. However, it makes no matter who's pitching in that situation because the smart money says 6-4-3 dp, that adjustment is immpossible for him, whereas put that runner on 2 with 1 out and you can expect him to bring him home, not ground to short. I don't know what you do for that but it would be a weakness of his for sure.

The gun at the cell at the start of the year didn't make sence as it was way too low, now it's up too high, who knows? I'm glad Koch took time to cool off before speaking, he knows things are s*** right now(I warned he wasn't nearly as good as advertised, but he's better than this). I would like to like him since he will be with us for a while and he is one of the few players who gives a crap about winning it seems, I'm just not convinced he's gonna put us in the best position to do that right now and he likely needs to understand that too. Even when Keith Foulke was blowing games his worst there were some singles in the hole, some walks ect. Koch has been Big Doubles followed by bigger home runs, followed by....

The people who bashed this s*** out of Olivo during spring training have quieted down quite a bit, we shouldn't need our catcher to hit on this team, but that is a big bonus if he can continue to do so.

He wasn't a standout ML player 'till he got some on the job training at the ML level, his minor league stats show that, he was an undrafted FA, he would not get that opportunity without a vacency in the outfield. How many RF prospects do we really give 2 s***s about right now?

I will say this, Sammy for George Bell, really sucked period, but should we regret it given the very significant silver lining(ie. Maggs' emmergence and perhaps championships) I say no and therefore can be glad the move was made, that which being the original concept of this thread. If I am Biased,ridiculous and sorely mistaken as a result so be it.

Ordonez was lower than Lee all through the minors and Sosa wouldn't have been benched so Maggs would never have gotten an opportunity.

I like the Colon deal, Wells isn't as good as we like to belive but that trade still sucked. Clayton and Lofton we're lousy but who did we have that was better. Clayton is hitting this year and Lofton isn't any worse than Rowand. Williams has made many poor decisions(ACCENT ON THE BOTCH trade) but he does get blasted after the fact way more than before. Never do you deserve such criticism because you don't hide your thoughts on any moves before the results.
