I'm pretty fast for a fat kid, the beer league teamates of mine say it all the time.
-
No I knew the numbers pretty much but if I hadn't posted them people would doubt what I was saying. Once more I am not slagging Loaiza and I really like him, just putting out something he has struggled with in the past, so we can all be even more impressed when he overcomes it this year.
-
Don't get me started. I hope he's well rested and gets the velocity up, finds his spots early and show the drive and poise on the mound that he is loved for showing off the mound.

When did I tell you you had to like Eminem? I can't stand him myself, but what do I have to gain by repeatedly telling someone who does like him that he sucks, just to start s***? Furthermore, bands make money, for a reason, if 6 million people went out and bought his record he probably didn't suck. Go ahead and pat yourself on the back for picking a fight with someone, proclaiming youself the winner, bravo have a hero cookie on me and go in peace.
-
Me neither, but hockey sucks so it's OK If saying useless s*** like that makes you guys feel good about yourselves, go for it.

How eloquent and intelligent. Next thing you know you'l be pushing the Academy Award as some kind of proof..."Eminem" and "music" shouldn't be mentioned within the same rhetorical mile. Just because he is better than lowest of lowest of common denominator (Ja Rule, Maya, DMX, Britney, etc) doesn't mean he is a "can do". What a Suburban Angst Merchant indeed, with trite, predictably "controversial" lyrics and patheticly simplistic "beats" and melodic layout. At least (overrated) Marvin Gaye had a good voice and some semblance of "social" critique...but then again he didn't market himself as a "rapper-rebel, sent by God to piss people off" and had danceable and melodic tunes, operating in a different, less lyrics-oriented genre...whereas Em is just a whiny, hateful punk with a grudge against everybody with little to no writing/composing/performing skills. An insecure wannabe, a wife-beater, a cultural clown...He has his niche and he will make a lot of money just purely on on the novelty/shock value and because he has no real competition. The marketing machiner will do the rest. Kinda like KISS. Though I agree something to that effect could be said about 98% of bands that anyone's heard of these days. To each his own praise the Sox!

Positive enough for you all?

I didn't rip on him in this thread. I like him, liked him in Toronto and what I remember of him in Pittsburgh, both those teams gave up on him after making him there #1 he can be great as we've seen this year, we just have to handle him than teams in the past. We are very fortunate that Don Cooper, not Nardi is the one handling that for us.
-
Not 14 games in, that's stupid. This team is very good and if they don't win enough games over the course of this season I guess it's time. How many losing seasons has JM had guys, a tad early to can him?

My generation has a shorter attention span and that gives us less patience.

I'm pretty consistant with who I s*** and why I do so. Players who have had major flaws over their careers don't often correct them immediately after dawning a White Sox jersey for a new season(Koch,Lee,Loaiza) for some examples. Loaiza has consistantly s*** the bed 2 months into seasons, I am extatic that it appears he will not, but as a jaded White Sox fan, not so unwise to not be apprehensive of the possibility. You can spin things many ways I'm sure perhaps I should take a new approach. Lee's home run wasn't a bad habit swing but a sign that he's ready to hit everything. Koch isn't throwing straight down velocity fastballs over the plate on over half his pitches and Loaiza has never had a bad second half for the White Sox in his career. Ahhh all that positive energy I feel much better now.

He pitched well against Oakland last year and they tend to thump us.
-
Esteban always starts great and sucks later here is a link to last year and this year game by game, note the early sucess and late failure. It has been his achillies heel, hope he is in fact a new pitcher this year. He made 6.75 million lat year and we get him for squat a steal for Kenny if he carries it on. Loaiza gbg

They were what .217 coming into the Cinncy series? That's pretty ignorant to claim thay are a good hitting team. Choi has walked what 7 times this series, because he is patient or because Reds pitching blows dead goats.

He can't ask Ventura for help anymore

Soxnet.net/Soxtalk.com Chat Room <---Come on in!
Mathew replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Me too, 3 meetings in one day, I got a headache and can't sleep so I'm pounding rye and posting on the computer instead. I'd planed to just sit down to the Sox game today but at quarter to five s*** just popped out of the woodwork, thanks to those who updated here periodically, I checked as I ran in and out of the house. -
I think it's funny because Doug the mouthy Twinkie sure won't be there, but I expect Buehrle and maybe Maggs to get there and that's it so I don't see us laughing too hard come All-Star time, may I be proved wrong.

If a character reference from a 20 yr old kid from Canada is worth anything consider it done.
-
I wouldn't complain, you know your s***.

HSC couldn't stay dorment on this thread for long. He's hitting .300 with a broken hand, good on him.
-
I really hope so, the problem I have is that Valentine had already proven himself at that level.
-
Comparing Koch to Marte last year and this year it is easy to determine who has pitched better over both thus far. We all hope they both pitch great and will continue to do so.

Nobody said trade Magglio don't make your arguement by putting words in people's mouths. Some said don't trade for Botch period. I for one still say that, but since we have him I would like to see him not giving up 4 runs per outing each time he see's KC, if a way to avoid that is to put him in a different situation I am for it, as I was last week, last month, yesterday. If Botch blows ten saves in a row, I'll fly back to Chicago to run on the field and attack him. Kansas city hasn't proven they score runs late a la 2000 Sox, they've proven they hit dead straight fastballs a long way.
