I think guys were still dealing with the after effects of very abnormal 2020 last season, and the post lockout ramp up just compounded the issues.

The lack of leadership seems pretty apparent, lazy and lackadaisical play, mental mistakes galore, continual bad and undisciplined approaches at the plate, etc etc. Obviously the chairman is responsible for the asshat managing this team into the ground, but the collection of talent the FO assembled has not turned into a great team. Any change in manager will be overseen by the same people who assembled this mess. Not to write too many post mortems 20 games into a season, but I don't know where they go from here.

Jays org might know a little something about hitting instruction too. I wouldn't' be surprised if they turned Zack into a useful part time DH bat.

I jumped from 'not concerned yet' to 'can't take my eyes off this train wreck fascinated at how bad it could get' with pretty quickly. Even though deep down I know even a 2016 level collapse won't lead to a TLR firing.

The White Sox roster is a pretty darn good collection of talent. Performance as a team on the field though is an entirely different story.

He was o-fer on the season with a bunch of K's before getting hot and launching a few bombs. He's also exclusively DHed (afaik), which he wouldn't have done here. I'm still 100% ok with the trade.

This one feels like a game where Cease pitches a gem, the offense is absent again, and some fuck up in the field leads to a close loss late on a cold & miserable afternoon. Prove me wrong please White Sox.

Ozzie hasn’t been in a dugout in 10 years. Let’s not make the same mistake. At this point I’m more interested in salvaging the season and would be fine with McEwing or Cairo as interim. Worry about a new hire in November.
