  1. They already have in a sense, his name was Santana. I can't believe I'm saying this but would they consider bringing back James Shields who threw for some teams last week?
  2. And so is JR my friend.
  3. From the MLB.com site: https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/news/rick-hahn-looks-back-on-trade-of-fernando-tatis-jr I found this statement VERY interesting: “At the same time, the decision to make that trade was motivated by elements within the organization we are trying to avoid as we complete this rebuild, as we get to the other side of the rebuild.” Could he be referring to someone in particular? Hello....Kenny!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Will the last healthy White Sox player please turn out the lights when you leave the ballpark. Thank You. White Sox management
  5. Well they weren't going to really be doing anything this year anyway so I guess from that perspective it's not a big deal. What IS a big deal is injury after injury after injury seemingly non-stop. And I don't think you'll be seeing Banuelos for awhile anyway.
  6. You can't make this stuff up folks.
  7. Don't think that will be happening. It will probably be more dumpster diving.
  8. Actually it is the past three seasons if you include the big league team.
  9. From Rick Hahn today: “This is an unfortunate side effect sometimes of Tommy John, in terms of the scar tissue build up as well as issues that develop with the nerve,” said Hahn of Adolfo, who had Tommy John in ’18. “Both of these are highly fixable, so we remain very optimistic on his full recovery and returning to us without restriction.”
  10. After the injury news today this was a breath of fresh air at least for tonight.
  11. Yet they'll waste said money on guys like Keppinger, LaRoche, Dunn, Alonso and Jay

PTATC: I may be wrong but even with Herm being an honorary trainer now, I think in the media guide the trainer with the least seniority on the Sox major league staff has been around for like 21 years. That's off the top of my head but I recall seeing this when I went through the media guide a few months ago. That's not exactly young to me but again I could have misread the information.

And they'll still win 90 games and make the playoffs because they have a front office that actually knows what they are doing over and above spending money.

I understand that but what would it hurt given what is at stake? Maybe something is being missed, maybe there is something new out there conditioning wise for example that isn't known by the Sox. Seems like cheap insurance to me.

I think it is arthroscopic surgery from what I have seen on Twitter.

They continue to go down left and right. Still wondering if the Sox have even considered the idea of having some independent outside people come in from the medical and physical therapy areas to evaluate the Sox entire medical / training and conditioning staffs and procedures.
  17. Interesting idea but I think it is to much of a risk given his history. Also given it's Scott Boras has he ever agreed to something along these lines with a frequently injured player? Somehow I don't think he'd go for it.

Can't say I'm surprised. Guy just can not stay healthy. Another one bites the dust. Just curious, does everyone think Rodon was overused at N.C. State? Could that be part of his issues??
  19. Excuse me. Doesn't detract from the point I was trying to make. It's very frustrating to see another acquisition perform badly as soon as he gets to the Sox. Whomever does the major league scouting and evaluating (since Hahn doesn't make decisions in a vacuum) needs to be held accountable for all these mistakes which seem to badly outnumber the ones that have succeeded.
  20. I don't think its lazy at all, both guys have many of the same characteristics to me. Home run or nothing. Alonzo has shown more of course in the past, but like many of Hahn's acquisitions as soon as he put that White Sox uniform on he went right down the toilet for some unexplained reason.
  21. This ownership group has always had a streak of arrogance in my opinion, from JR on down. Like, "we're smarter than all of you..."
  22. Giolito looked terrific again. Good for him. Only downer was Moncada 0-5 with three strikeouts, now down to .277. Alonzo is Adam Dunn 2.0 Both are left handers, both are making a lot of money, both usually hit under .200 and their only worth is hitting home runs. He hit one today but this is still a big mistake by Hahn unless he somehow turns things around. Maybe start going the other way to beat the shift and start raising his average?
  23. None of the first four guys you mentioned will even be around with the Sox in two years when they (supposedly) will be good.
  24. They absolutely do...BUT (you knew that was coming). They want to do it THEIR WAY. Which in many respects is running contrary to the way most other franchises (including very successful ones) operate. They neglected the minor league system for years, even now it is a legit question about their ability to develop people, draft choices for years were horrendous, with so many injuries piling up the last three years you wonder if they have properly evaluated the training / medical staffs, they are reluctant to deal with certain agents, they obviously aren't willing to pay top dollar for premium talent and the way the front office comments about things to the media often makes you wonder if they have a PR staff that knows what they are doing and finally they are loyal without accountability.
  25. McCann needs to be playing every single day either at catcher or DH until he cools off. Meanwhile Alonzo is now down to .170...what a friggin' waste of nine million bucks. Amazing smarts there by Rick Hahn.
