  1. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 08:44 PM) I think I like Sale even more than I did before this incident. You think cutting up a bunch of jerseys like a four year old kid was the appropriate reaction to the situation?
  2. The "trade value dropping" tweets have been all over tonight
  3. Chuck GarfienVerified account ‏@ChuckGarfien I know Chris Sale likes wearing the 1983 throwbacks. He clearly had issues with the '76 ones. And yes, there's more to it than that.
  4. Dave hasn't said anything since claiming that the uniform story didn't happen. However it has been confirmed by raBBit, Chuck Garfien, Ken Rosenthal, etc.
  5. Now we're in a quandary. Do we keep this guy? This isn't somebody I'd want on my team. But if you trade him, do you get the same package you would if this didn't happen?
  6. All this does is make our organization look horrendous. Nobody wins
  7. I don't get those defending Sale. Sure, he can claim that it's a PR move all he wants, but cutting up jerseys is extreme
  8. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:39 PM) Is this the red and blue SOX jersey? I feel like he's worn this a bunch of times. It was the 76 blue one
  9. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:37 PM) So the question is are there stats for Sale pitching in this uncomfortable uniform? We've worn this uniform one time- a variant of it in fact Edit- during Sale's tenure of course
  10. Sports illustrated "Chris sale would probably cut up these 25 NBA throwbacks too" (+ link)
  11. Flu like symptoms are getting crazy these days
  12. Cutting up jerseys is as close to non physical as you can get
  13. Yikes that's a lot of money he just threw out. Those jerseys cost a lot to make
  14. At the game and everyone is on their phones looking at Sale news
  15. I'm just gonna go ahead and make a wish list on the Sox deadline movement: Trade with Red Sox: Boston gets: Chris Sale, David Robertson, Zach Duke Chicago gets: Yoan Moncada, Andrew Benintendi, Blake Swihart, Rafael Devers, Michael Kopech, Eduardo Rodriguez, Travis Lakins Trade with Dodgers: Los Angeles gets: Jose Quintana Chicago gets: Julio Urias, Jose De Leon, Alex Verdugo, Starling Heredia Trade with Rangers: Texas gets: Jose Abreu, Melky Cabrera, Brett Lawrie, James Shields, cash Chicago gets: Rougned Odor, Luis Ortiz Trade with Astros: Houston gets: Todd Frazier Chicago gets: Kyle Tucker, Gilberto Celestino Obviously not all of this will happen, but it's fun to imagine how stacked our farm can be after selling.
  16. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 10:31 AM) Full value for Sale consists of: 1)Status as top 5 pitcher (Contenders need a really good pitcher, but they don't necessarily need a top 5, so they may not be willing to pay for a top 5). 2)Control for another 3/4 years (3/4 years of control isn't that important now when you're trying to win a WS) 3)Annual contract well below market value (most of the contenders can easily afford a high contract, so they aren't willing to pay full prospect price of a cheaper contract) Another thing to consider is how thin the SP market is right now
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 10:45 PM) Team is just being owned by the big 3 in the division. Just a horrible game tonight, as the two young guys (Anderson and Fulmer) couldn't have played worse. Yeah, not an easy loss but if we're selling, I don't mind
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 10:47 PM) It was looking close at that point, and if they would lost, the mojo of the series could have been different. fair enough
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 10:42 PM) I'd Duke didn't pitch out of bases loaded nobody out in Boston, I wonder if Robin would have made it past that series. ... but didn't we win 3 out of 4 that series? Not like we were avoiding a sweep with the Duke game
  20. One name I rarely see mentioned is Gleyber Torres. The guy is blocked by Russell, and while he's a few years away, I'm sure they wouldn't mind including him in a Sale package
  21. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 10:27 PM) We having fun yet Sox fans? Really makes you want to get out to the stadium, huh? I'll be there tomorrow (for the giveaway )
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 10:24 PM) Narvaez has a really nice game. Few good at bats and did a good job blocking a lot of pitches. Can't believe we saw Navarro used as a PH. I think Ventura is trying to get fired. Lefty/lefty
  23. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 10:22 PM) Lmao at Baez and Soler. Any Sale deal with the Cubs starts with Bryant or Russell. Eh, I'd say Bryant. Russell is one of the most overrated players in baseball IMO, and he hasn't done anything to convince me that he'll live up to his potential
