  1. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 03:51 PM) Does this mean that they'll be adding another OF soon? Don't think so. Cabrera/Shuck/Eaton/Jackson/Garcia currently on the roster.

  3. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 04:36 PM) Yeah an A ball guy we picked up off the scrap heap might actually get a look with the big club this year. Says a lot about our minor league system. He's in AAA, but yes
  4. At this point, even Nick Delmonico could be a better DH option than Rollins.
  5. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 11:31 AM) 2012 LgAvg Slash: .255/.319/.405/.724 2012 Sox Slash: .255/.318/.422/.740 Now THIS team: 2006 Slash: .280/.342/.464/.806 That team could hit. I was more referring to the 2012 team's 4.62 runs per game (4th in AL) and 211 home runs (3rd in AL).
  6. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 11:06 AM) I think not being able to assemble a hitting team in a decade is another reason to be canned. 2012
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 11:07 AM) That is half an inning more, and it will go up once he isn't pinch hit for in the American League. You can see that pretty clearly in his pitches per start numbers and his IP/Start in the NL vs AL. And the number is also skewed due to the one disastrous start, given that the season is still young and each start greatly impacts the average.
  8. I find the whole "Robin has more experience than you, you pathetic message board poster!!" argument to be very amusing. When we had threads about John Danks, Adam LaRoche, Adam Dunn, etc. did people ever say "he's a better baseball player than you!!!!"? No. Obviously, we're not saying that we could do a better job as manager than Ventura. What we are saying is that he is bad at his job and he should be replaced by somebody who is qualified, such as Renteria.
  9. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 02:17 PM) It would be the worst thing. Show me where this organization has a good track record of scouting and development. Jose Quintana, Chris Sale are two big ones
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 12:35 PM) Ha, Coats took a wide birth of Eaton on that one. Ah, the jokes I could make with your use of "birth" over "berth"...
  11. So I just realized that this makes our 2017 and 2018 rotations: Sale Quintana Shields Rodon Fulmer Sign me up!
  12. I wonder how many (if any) MLB teams other than us would sport a deadly Rollins/Sands combination on their 25-man roster.
  13. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 10:53 AM) Good move. Gonzalez can strike guys out....this may work out.
  14. Our lineup looks so much less intimidating without Melky
  15. HR rate (always been an issue) and lower velocity are red flags but still a good move given the price
  16. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 04:19 PM) James Shields won't report to the #WhiteSox officially until Tuesday. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/739204345057529856 That's a nice day for his first start, between Q/Rodon
  17. Let's make this game official if it really is supposed to rain that hard
  18. Dan HayesVerified account ‏@CSNHayes Also hearing #WhiteSox deal for James Shields is official. Erik Johnson included in return. Unclear on other names, $$.
  19. Chris Cotillo ‏@ChrisCotillo 9m9 minutes ago Erik Johnson believed to be in play in Shields deal but haven't 100% confirmed his involvement. #WhiteSox #Padres
  20. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 03:29 PM) Source: Shields to White Sox is done. Players being notified. #Padres https://twitter.com/ChuckGarfien/status/739190657621852160 The link says Chuck Garfien but this is a Chris Cotillo tweet when you click on it... doesn't make sense to me
