Everything posted by Jose Abreu

  1. Abreu might not even beat the Sox franchise rookie HR record anymore. It seemed like a sure thing at the ASB, he just needed 6-7 more.
  2. Yeah, Alexei has been doing everything in his power to keep Abreu from 100.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 10, 2014 -> 03:56 PM) This is an exchange from two days ago, so I am guessing it is an old picture from when he signed or something. Robert Burnett III Wow sorry I missed u... What's next for u??? September 7 at 6:29pm · Like Tim Anderson Robert Burnett III going back to Arizona to do training until next seaso September 7 at 6:30pm · Like Oh, thanks. I knew it was too good to be true.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 10, 2014 -> 03:50 PM) On where? I'm not seeing it on twitter. I saw it on his Facebook.
  5. There's no way Tim Anderson was called up, right? He posted a picture of himself in a Sox jersey and people are commenting/posting to him "congrats on making it all the way" and stuff
  6. Is this Adam Eaton's rookie year, or did his 62 games from last season count? If this is his rookie year, then he should definitely be on that list along with Vargas and Shoemaker.
  7. DV now with 20 HRs. Needs 6 more for his most in a season.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 09:14 PM) Anyone know the biggest decline in power before/after ASB in MLB history? Jose Abreu and Brandon Moss come to mind this year, although there must be worse ones in the history of MLB.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 07:38 PM) What's the injury? QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 07:39 PM) Well, that would explain why he needed that day off. In July. When he last got one. Didn't he just get a day off in Minnesota? And I think it's described as general soreness and leg pain.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 07:34 PM) Abreu looked hurt at the plate. His swing seemed incredibly slow in that AB. He is hurt and has been hurt for weeks.
  11. Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 27m Since the All-Star break, the #WhiteSox are 8-2 in Hector Noesi's starts. He has a 3.93 ERA and averaged 6 2/3 innings.
  12. @SportsCenter Tyler Flowers, have a game! He homers in bottom of 9th to tie game vs A's, then hits walk-off HR in 12th. White Sox win, 5-4.
  13. Avi's played in what, 25 games this year? Don't give up yet.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 10:35 PM) Pound a single between first and second, Avi. No 6-4-3 bs. You got your wish! Or half of it.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 08:33 PM) And yet another reason we can't go into 2015 with Avisail and Gillaspie as our best "power" hitters after Abreu. Alexei has 14 homers...
  16. When we made the move, I absolutely hated it and was likely vocal about it here, but I've got to hand it to him, Noesi has been much better than I thought he'd be.
  17. I wouldn't mind Samardzija if it were at a reasonable price. However, I do think he is the most overrated pitcher in baseball.
  18. Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 33s What does Samardzjia think about joining a pitching staff with Chris Sale? "That's not a bad start there for sure."
  19. Sale and John Danks got this for Dunn:
  20. Adam Dunn on the boos he got from White Sox fans: "I have a fantasy (football) team and I wasn't happy with those guys either."
  21. Jeff Samardzjia on signing with the White Sox or Cubs after 2015: "There will definitely be communication when the time comes."
  22. (MLB, not AL) Abreu is now 4th in HR, 6th in RBI, and 5th in BA. The second-half HR/RBI drought has really cost him.
