Jose Abreu

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 08:33 PM) And yet another reason we can't go into 2015 with Avisail and Gillaspie as our best "power" hitters after Abreu. Alexei has 14 homers...

When we made the move, I absolutely hated it and was likely vocal about it here, but I've got to hand it to him, Noesi has been much better than I thought he'd be.

I wouldn't mind Samardzija if it were at a reasonable price. However, I do think he is the most overrated pitcher in baseball.

Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 33s What does Samardzjia think about joining a pitching staff with Chris Sale? "That's not a bad start there for sure."

Sale and John Danks got this for Dunn:

Adam Dunn on the boos he got from White Sox fans: "I have a fantasy (football) team and I wasn't happy with those guys either."

Jeff Samardzjia on signing with the White Sox or Cubs after 2015: "There will definitely be communication when the time comes."

(MLB, not AL) Abreu is now 4th in HR, 6th in RBI, and 5th in BA. The second-half HR/RBI drought has really cost him.

When did Cruz jump to 39 home runs? Abreu has almost no chance at that, now.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 12:15 PM) Damn Milwaukee is in May and weekdays I know. I probably would've made it out there on a weekend.

I hate the April schedule. It's almost all AL Central teams.

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 12:05 PM) MLB didn't announce when they were going to do this. A couple teams or writers for teams released what they know, so maybe not officially today. We'll see. The Mariners schedule is out, but that's it.

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 12:05 PM) Really? You're that concerned over it that you're constantly refreshing Twitter? Yes. I have nothing better to do right now anyway.

Anything?

1 minute... time to constantly refresh our Twitter feeds

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 11:50 AM) OK, it's past noon, anybody see a schedule yet? Release is noon central.

QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 11:43 AM) Not saying you're wrong, but it's so frustrating that the idea of shrinking the schedule is such a non-starter. You're right, the profit-driven owner would never even consider it. Fact is though, it would be so much better for the sport in numerous, far-reaching ways. It also would greatly affect player stats, both season and career. Perhaps Joey Gallo, in 15 years, hits 400 home runs, but since they took a month off of the seasons, he really could've hit 440. Abreu would've finished this season around .310 with 96 RBIs... etc.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 6, 2014 -> 08:30 PM) Looking very very ragged that inning. Other than eaton and Ramirez, we don't have any average fielders even...maybe Sanchez and flowers Um, Abreu? He's definitely been average, if not, better than average.

Konerko says he's feeling better and may return after Oakland series, Petricka is unavailable for this series because his wife just gave birth to their first kid.

His season average is now .325.

During his 14 game hitting streak, Abreu is 25-47 (.532).

During his 14 game hitting streak, Abreu is 25-47 (.532).

Ok now this is getting good. Abreu .325 after that triple

Abreu .324
