  6. ... talk about a ghost game thread. 3-0 TB in the 4th
  7. Not a good day for our studs- Sale and Abreu
  8. Can Aoki just stop? Seriously, 11-12 this series?
  9. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 08:29 PM) He's quickly "sale"ing away from the Cy Young Too soon.

  12. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 07:39 PM) Punto Rayburn Aoki f***'em all Don't forget Jason Kubel and Kurt Suzuki
  13. Looks like another one of those 95-97 kind of days for Sale. I prefer him as more of a 92-94 guy, especially with the recent increase in Tommy John surgeries, but I feel like I'm the only one with that opinion.
  14. Way to not show the PK ceremony right behind you guys during the beginning of the broadcast, WCIU
  15. Contrary to many reports, RV says he still hasn't made a decision on whether or not Sale will get an extra start during the last weekend of the season.
  16. Can someone please summarize his MLBN appearance?
  17. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 15, 2014 -> 10:36 PM) But then once I told you that baserunning was factored in, you said this.... I'm just saying they are weighted based on people much smarter than you or I using crazy amounts of data and equations. While defensive WAR is a flukey system, according to the people who calculate it, they are pretty damn confident in their offensive WAR calculations Yeah, I'm not a big Sabermetrics guy, so referring to the first part of your post, I didn't know that baserunning and hitting were combined for offensive WAR. As for the second part, I understand, and I know that McCutchen is obviously a much better baserunner than Abreu, but I just don't get how baserunning is so important when it comes to the stat as opposed to hitting, that's all.
  18. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 15, 2014 -> 10:25 PM) Ok, but these are scientifically calculated based on which are more indicative of a good hitter. My original post was referring to baserunning being weighted in the offensive WAR stat, not the AVG/HR/RBI/OBP stats individually.
  19. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Sep 15, 2014 -> 09:49 PM) That would be a s***ty trade. Just sign one. I wouldn't mind signing one, but if we were to sign Tomas like I suggested, we probably wouldn't have money for one.
  20. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 15, 2014 -> 09:48 PM) Why? Because I feel like those stats, especially AVG, are more indicative of how good of a hitter is. OBP as well.
  21. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 15, 2014 -> 09:39 PM) Okay, but you are also ignoring the face that Cutch strikes outs less, and walks a lot more. His OBP is .399. Oh yeah, and he has 17 SB too. Baserunning is a factor in Offensive WAR as well. My mistake, I thought that baserunning, hitting, and defense were all separate categories. Either way, I still think that the massive HR/RBI/AVG difference should be more heavily weighted, although I do agree that McCutchen has the advantage when it comes to OBP.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 15, 2014 -> 09:38 PM) I like the idea, but I doubt you could get someone like Latos for that package Maybe not quite as good as Latos. I'm saying in-between a Gavin Floyd and Latos.
