QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 30, 2014 -> 08:35 PM) Well, best chance until Jose Abreu goes for 74. 441** (Cuban league stats averaged into a 162 game season per wikipedia)
-
Good idea. I'd definitely go.
-
But even without ADA we still have JorDanks to be 4th OF so...
-
Isn't he like the White Sox Ambassador to Executive Baseball Operations or some s***?
-
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 04:08 PM) I have fond memories of his time with Baltimore. He should go in as a Dodger, Twin, or Oriole.

Here's something crazy I saw on FB. Someone suggested: 1. Eaton (CF) 2. Viciedo (LF) 3. Garcia (RF) 4. Abreu (1B) 5. Ramirez (SS) 6. Dunn (DH) 7. Flowers © 8. Beckham (2B) 9. Gillaspie (3B)

If he doesn't go in wearing a Cleveland cap, all hell will break loose.

QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 10:57 PM) I've always been more worried about trades. I had a Quentin jersey, and got to wear it 1 year. Then I had a Pierzynski and Buehrle jersey for 2 years and they both left. Currently rocking a Sale one (which I bought the day after he signed his extension). I think the next one will be a Frank Thomas. I'm getting sick of replacing jerseys every 2-3 years, especially because I buy the authentic ones that cost a lot. If I were you, I'd go for Abreu or Eaton.

I actually prefer Alexei in the 2-hole. .284 with 6 home runs is better than .265 with 9.
-
That being said, I like this lineup: 1. Eaton 2. Ramirez 3. Garcia 4. Abreu 5. Dunn 6. Viciedo 7. Davidson 8. Beckham 9. Flowers
-
Pretty sure we re-signed TFlow to be our starting catcher (and also hoping that he only sucked due to his shoulder). I've said it before and I'll say it again- I'll take a healthy Tyler Flowers over a healthy Josh Phegley any day.
-
We don't need Santana. Santana is the most erratic, inconsistent pitcher I've ever seen. One season he's 3.10, the next he's 5.67. No thank you, I'm content with Sale, Quintana, Danks, Johnson, and Paulenzo.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 11:06 PM) We have Flowers and Josh at catcher he has a good chance to break camp as the backup. Hey Soxfest, did you go to SoxFest this year?
-
QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 10:08 PM) Thanks, but I'm referring to people who have Nieto in the starting lineup. I can't blame you for being confused. The thread creator asked for starting lineups, but some people have been posting benches, 25 man rosters, etc. I was really asking for the batting order only, but I don't mind people posting extra.

Trades will likely be made involving De Aza/3B. The 1B situation is Abreu almost always, Dunn vs RHP and Konerko vs LHP.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 03:18 PM) I'd agree, just wondering whether he is best suited to hit there now and whether that's best for this roster. Yeah, didn't Rios lead off in his first few seasons?

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 02:23 PM) I think you need to check your math. No matter how I calculate this, I don't come up with 19. Sox/Tigers - 7 HRs in 72 games. 150/72*7=14.5 Just Sox - 5 HRs in 42 games. 150/42*5=17.8 By PAs - 7 HRs in 256 PAs. 256/7=36.5 would require 694 PAs (not happening) to hit 19 By ABs - 7 HRs in 244 ABs. 244/7=34.85 would require 662 ABs (not happening) to hit 19 Not a big deal, just curious how you got 19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 02:28 PM) With the Sox, he hit a homer every 33.6 PAs. Over the duration of a season, given 650 PAs, it comes out to 19 homers. To me, that's still pretty optimistic. I used PA's for just Sox.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 01:57 PM) If there is such a thing, perhaps he could do so. But the counterpoints are, he has some speed, him hitting in the #2 slot has him getting extra at-bats on the year, it makes the lineup flow a little better than having 3 righties back to back going 2-4 (Ramirez, Garcia, Abreu), and I personally dislike Alexei in the 2-slot as I think it hurts his approach at the plate, taking away some of his power numbers (which could, btw, help him be a more tradeable asset if he can push those numbers higher again). QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 02:01 PM) There is no such thing as too many home runs, but 24 homers for Garcia is awfully optimistic. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 02:05 PM) PECOTA pegs Garcia to hit 8 homers. Seems a little low. I did the math. If Avi were to play at the same level he did for 150 games last year, he would've hit: 19 homers.
-
Wouldn't Garcia hit too many home runs to be a #2 hitter? I have him going 24/77 in the 3/5 holes.

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 11:54 AM) It's kind of confusing the way they do it. You have to go into the "personalized jerseys" and then they have a drop down menu that has all the players available. Quick link to the personalized jerseys http://shop.mlb.com/family/index.jsp?categ...&cp=1452701 But you have to call them and do it otherwise they cancel it. It's annoying as f***. You have to get one from CSD or SoxFest really.
-
After what's been said about him as of late, I'm changing my prediction to .285/36/95
-
Davidson is ready. He's been tearing up the minors and got some MLB experience last year.
-
No Eaton-Elmore dynamic duo reunited?
-
The Sox have A TON of routes they can go when it comes to batting order. Ventura can reunite Eaton and Elmore... he can insert De Aza... so I'm wondering, what do you want the lineup to be?
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 26, 2014 -> 03:40 PM) HOW THE F*** DO YOU KNOW THAT? He's a psychic.
