Frank Thomas: "I could have won 4 more MVP's"
That's right, good point ^^. Hell, he could've even won in 06 with Oakland.

Sox to Make Hard Push for Granderson
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 19, 2013 -> 10:01 PM) Really? http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CH...ml?mobile=false 200 isn't a lot? Well, compared to other Ozzie years, no. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CH...8-batting.shtml http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CH...6-batting.shtml

Sox to Make Hard Push for Granderson
QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Nov 19, 2013 -> 09:45 PM) Why do people put De Aza on the sucked/ship him out list? He's a 2 to 3 WAR guy who's cheap. What is wrong with this? If you dont like him leading off then the problem is just him leading off. For what he costs, the problems lie elsewhere on this team. I agree. If he could just fix that god-awful baserunning and maybe get a slightly better glove...

Frank Thomas: "I could have won 4 more MVP's"
He also said, "I have confidence in Rick Hahn," Thomas said. "He's a good guy. But maybe he's lacking the heartbeat of the locker room. I always thought baseball guys should be assistant GMs. But he's not the only one. There are lots of guys out there who study all the statistics."

Frank Thomas: "I could have won 4 more MVP's"
http://www.csnchicago.com/white-sox/frank-...-four-more-mvps I think maybe two more. One for sure in 2000. Not so sure about four, though. Which years do you think he's referring to? His stats and MVP results (in right column): www.baseball-reference.com/players/t/thomafr04.shtml

Sox to Make Hard Push for Granderson
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 19, 2013 -> 09:24 PM) With 100 home runs, sure I'll take that many Ks. Have we forgotten the ways of Ozzie Ball?

Sox to Make Hard Push for Granderson
Keep in mind that Abreu and Dunn will combine for 400 strikeouts as well. Do we really want to make that 575/600?

Your Realistic 2014 Lineup
O's interested in Gavin Floyd. Seems like a Baltimore kind of guy; their whole rotation is pretty much a bunch of #3 and #4 starters every year (rare exceptions such as Tillman who is a #2).

Hahn says trade talks have heated up.
Alright, it's good that Konerko's decision hasn't "hamstrung" our plans. Hinting at a Paulie hamstring injury, Hahn?

Sox to Make Hard Push for Granderson
Are we still likely to make a run at him like we were the day this thread was posted? Did the Abreu signing completely diminish the chances of a Granderson to the White Sox signing?

White Sox Re-Sign David Purcey
Minor league contract; left had a great 2.13 ERA in 2013 but walked 6 batters per 9 innings. Alex Liddi followed by David Purcey? I think that's all we need. We're ready to contend.

Float a name!
Ray Olmedo? What exactly is the point of this thread?

White Sox Sign Alex Liddi
.272, 111/527 over 8 minor league years. Has seen glimpses of the majors. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/p...id=liddi-001ale

Matt Wieters
Having a switch hitter in the starting lineup would be nice, though

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 13, 2013 -> 11:51 PM) And what does Viciedo think of that? I'm pretty sure he doesn't like his either. But I don't think either will change.

Sorta OT but Quintana wants his number changed to 24 apparently.

QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 13, 2013 -> 07:02 PM) C'mon, Scot Gregor. http://bbwaa.com/13-al-cy/ QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 13, 2013 -> 07:17 PM) Both Detroit voters included Greg Holland as 5th? Really, Scot Gregor? And Greg Holland? I'd even put Koji U above Holland.

Sale finished 5th, Dodgers beat write gave him a 1st place vote

Your Realistic 2014 Lineup
Dan Hayes: "What that means is anyone not named Jose Abreu, Avisail Garcia, Sale and Jose Quintana can be acquired in a trade, those executives confirmed." Jose Quintana will be here next year.

Saltalamacchia
I'd love a 2009/2010 Kurt Suzuki. But a 2013 Suzuki? No thanks. I'd rather stick with Phlowers.

Your Realistic 2014 Lineup
The weak Alexei to St. Louis rumor should be dead now. The Cards and Rockies are discussing a Tulowitzki trade (Cards would be incredible if he stays healthy). On an unrelated note, Gordon Beckham got married yesterday.
