QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 01:49 PM) The main reason I prefer Saladino to Rollins is defense. Not that Rollins is bad defensively, but Saladino is just elite in that regard Would rather be running Rollins in my opinion then saladino. Saladino is better defensively but sox need every ounce of offense as much as possible. Rollins has done it in the past. He's a veteran and has ton of experience. If Rollins can't cut it then you have you have saladino to back him up.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 08:29 PM) Well he's having a good spring. Why not bring him up to DH? He said when he first came here and didn't make the team it messed him up. He seems to have confidence right now. I hope it doesn't destroy it. That's my rationale. Avi is pretty much your dh first now. Playing Melky, Jackson and eaton in outfield improves defense. Dan hayes says avi will get alot of at bats and that's probably at dh. If Davidson can't get consistent at bats then he needs to be in minors showing he's progressed. If Avi doesn't get the job done everything then bring up Davidson

Jake Peavy told reporters he told Travis Ishikawa not to read too much into Mat Latos' outing because mound was that bad today. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/714224658950664192

Latos moved over four or five inches on the rubber during his last bullpen so that might take a little getting used to. https://twitter.com/scottmerkin/status/714222397725876224

Mat Latos said results have been horrible. But, he's also confident it only takes one good bullpen, one good outing to get back on track. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/714220234610073601

QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 27, 2016 -> 11:15 AM) I mentioned this before, but the only factor I could see the Sox taking 13 pitchers is if rain is in the forecast for Oakland on Wednesday, April 6. Unless I'm missing something with the 26th man rules, if the Wednesday game got rained out and the Sox were forced to play two on Thursday, they would have to do that without a 26th man. Right now, the forecast is cloudy with a chance of rain throughout that series. Figure you have 7 straight games to start off then an off day and then another 19 straight.

If the Sox were fully confident that that starters are going at least 7 innings then you might not need the extra pitcher

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Mar 27, 2016 -> 08:51 AM) He's saying if they decide to take Sands. Sands would likely be 4th bench guy depending on if there is an injury. Only other scenario I see where they take 13 pitchers and Sands is if Shuck doesn't make it. Shuck is making it before sands. If they take 13 pitchers then it's shuck, Saladino and one of the catchers is bench.

QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 27, 2016 -> 04:33 AM) Fulmer sent down to minor league camp. 36 left. If Sands makes it, the 11 left to be cut are: Carroll, Kahnle, Turner, Aumont H Sanchez Davidson, L Garcia, C Sanchez, Ishikawa Coats, May Depends if they decide to take 13 pitchers

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 26, 2016 -> 07:33 PM) What are the current odds of Davidson or Sands making the team over Sanchez? Haven't been following spring training much the past couple of weeks, other than noticing that Erik Johnson "hope" all off-season turned out to be another mirage. Really don't think they are taking sanchez no matter what. Davidson probably needs to be playing every day. Sands maybe but also need someone to back up 1st. Ishikawa could be more in play being lefthanded and plays 1st. Tho that all could change if they decide to take 13 pitchers with only 1 day off in april

With one off day in April, Ventura said 13 pitchers not out of equation. "We’ve been discussing that, definitely." https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/713869095767179264

Pretty worried about Avilas back. Last time the sox had that injury in camp led to a players kid not being allowed to come in the club house all the time.

Two starts ago, John Danks tipped his pitches and Dioner Navarro caught it. Since then he's put up 11 straight scoreless innings. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/712763749547913216

Today, the @whitesox face Carlos Carrasco, who they've hit well historically (5.76 ERA v. Sox, 3rd highest vs any team). 3 CT @CSNChicago. https://twitter.com/jasonbenetti/status/711886724410904576 -
