QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 05:23 PM) The problem is we won't be able to afford to fill holes. Whats the difference . Cant fill the current holes. If hypothetical you trade sale to boston for Benintendi, devers, kopech, Rodriguez and swihart then Benintendi can fill outfield now, Rodriguez goes into rotation now and swihart can also fill in somewhere now. Then you have kopech and devers coming up in the next year or 2. You try to get close to mlb ready talent not guys just in rookie league or low a ball.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 07:19 PM) I'm confused...he says he would be surprised if Sale was traded to Boston in a deal centered around Bennintendi. No he said he thought sale would go to boston and would be centered around Benintendi. He said he wouldnt be surprised if the sox extended Frazier. He first messed up the frazier opinion and correctd it

The domino that could catapult the white sox into a fire sale
Whisox05 replied to Whisox05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That would leave a large portion of the roster available trade-wise. https://twitter.com/scottmerkin/status/796104278821769218 Remember, though, they don’t have to trade Sale, Quintana or anybody for that matter. So they need to get what they ask. https://twitter.com/scottmerkin/status/796104352591134721 They should be able to do that. Again, nothing confirmed by team. Just a feeling from what I'm hearing. https://twitter.com/scottmerkin/status/796104481268256768 -

I agree White Sox are moving toward a rebuild. And I think we are talking a full rebuild if it’s executed https://twitter.com/scottmerkin/status/796104048864874497 They would be looking for top prospects who are close to Major League ready, if not a year or so away. Not necessarily big league players. https://twitter.com/scottmerkin/status/796104148030803969 Wh Sox on a new path to sustainable player control and success."I feel the approach now is focusing on longer term benefits"said Rick Hahn https://twitter.com/MLBBruceLevine/status/796103523830071297 -

QUOTE (Real @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 03:59 PM) It's hilarious that there are journalists and even posters on this site that actually believe the Sox are gonna blow it up. should know better by this point Should know better that them going for doesnt win crap. -
Can't say definitively, bc Rick Hahn qualified everything w/ "regardless of which direction" taken -- but all signs say #WhiteSox will sell. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/796086924121227265

Dave Dombrowski didn't rule out trading for a starting pitcher. But said their priorities are 8th-inning arm and DH. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/795783571130576896 Total overview is Dombrowki downplaying interest in Starting pitching . Dombrowski -Asked if he was close to making a deal with White Sox (deadline)"Never thought we were close.looking for starters then not now " https://twitter.com/MLBBruceLevine/status/795782989351297024

Ken Rosenthal article on top trade targets. Hes supposed to be talking about it on the hot stove on mlb network http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/gallery/ken-r...-targets-110716 The market conditions for a trade of Sale could not be much better. Sale is under control for three more seasons and $38 million -- not terribly beyond what Zack Greinke makes in a single year. The free-agent starters, meanwhile, are mostly pitchers that teams do not want, certainly not at market-driven prices. Will the White Sox want a ton for Sale? Of course. And they could get it, too.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 10:09 AM) The impression I remember is that they wanted Bradley AND their top prospects. That is why the talks never got off of the ground. Probably didnt get off the ground cause boston didn't want to take away from their roster in the playoff chase. I think it was said offseasn would be better to talk those kinda trades
