PIT/NATs in talks for McCutchen
QUOTE (WBWSF @ Dec 1, 2016 -> 02:43 PM) If the Pirates move McCutchen, I would sure like to see him playing centerfield the next 2 seasons in a White Sox uniform. Why, if the sox are rebuilding theres no point of him. Sox are trying to get younger and more control not short term stop gaps

The Nationals, according to one exec, would like to make this deal today, because the ripple effect of trading for McCutchen would likely be a move to nontender shortstop Danny Espinosa before tomorrow's tender date. The Nationals have been looking for a center fielder. So if they can trade for McCutchen, he would play center, which would bounce Trea Turner to short and leave no spot for Espinosa. The Pirates are looking for controllable starting pitching. So names like Joe Ross and Reynaldo Lopez would fit that shopping list.

White Sox waiting for bigger offers on Sale
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 04:46 PM) If the return for Sale is not what we want then absolutely I keep him and move forward. You can still get a ton of value at the deadline or next offseason for him His opportunistic time to trade him is now. Waiting until next trade deadline is risky cause he could get hurt. Plus the more time he stays with the sox the less years of control a teams is getting in him. Also next offseason is a big one for free agents expecially pitching wise. Hes the best there is now on the market whether its free agency or trading. Someone will pony up cause not to many pitchers of his level are available.

SOURCE: 2 horse race between Dodgers and Astros
QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Nov 24, 2016 -> 03:22 PM) Am I the only person who would want Anderson moved to CF if the Sox acquire Bregmen? Yes. If anderson would have come up and been horrible at ss then maybe he needed to be moved to another position but he played pretty well. Had positive defensive runs saved. Bregman can probably play 3rd so dont need to move anderson

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Nov 24, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) Bregman, I would move him to second and the team should have their middle infield locked up for the foreseeable future. Package of Bregman, Springer, Tucker, Whitely and another low level prospect would have me interested. I would look to flip Springer for more prospects at the deadlinehttp://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=101133&st=150&gopid=3450708 Dont think you are getting both bregman and springer. Would take package starting with bregman and reed. Both younger and under control longer

Braves among teams showing interest in chris sale
While the #Braves still would love to land Chris Sale, I still can't see them parting with the bounty of prospects it'll take to get him. https://twitter.com/DOBrienAJC/status/800779328439123968

Braves among teams showing interest in chris sale
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 10:51 AM) My preference for a centerpiece of the teams interested: 1. Bregman 2. Swanson 3. Urias (mostly because I would really like a position player back as the main piece, though I do believe Dodgers have good position players to add to an Urias package) I wouldn't be disappointed with any of these guys (plus the additional 4-5 other pieces as well). Swanson probably isnt getting moved. Would take alot of other prospects for the braves and not much position depth for them. Hopefully they are helping bid up other teams.

Why @MLB trade talks heavy on starting pitchers? Big names available, light SP free-agent market, slow pace of FA market overall due to CBA. https://twitter.com/jonmorosi/status/799323056565002240

Interesting 2016 stats
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 07:41 AM) I saw this. Robin used his starters too much and his relievers too much. Honestly you want your starters to go in as long as possible in games. Sox starters put the 4th most innings pitched in baseball in 2016. As for the relievers he had pitched some of them alot on back to back days but overall sox had the second fewest innings for relievers in all of baseball.
