  1. Hypothetical: Would you facilitate a Lindor trade to LAD if it meant getting Seager in return? Something along the lines of this Indians Get: May - Madrigal - Steiver - Collins Dodgers Get: Lindor (2021 FA) White Sox Get: Seager (2022 FA)
  2. If the Rockies really want to dump salary, I think the White Sox could probably get away with not attaching a top guy and absorbing McGee and/or Wade Davis (yikes)
  3. I feel like Joc would fit so well to balance our lineup against RHP. However, the Dodgers had the luxury of esstentially only playing him against RHP (~50AB against LHP each of the last three seasons). So acquiring Joc this year or targeting for 2021 would require us to build out some ML depth or acquire his lefty-bashing platoon partner.
  4. I'm gonna continue to conduct the Rich Hill and Sean Doolittle to the White Sox train.
  5. What about a guy like Rich Hill? He's probably one of the more interesting names on the market. With him putting it all together through 4 starts last year and success early on this year, I imagine his cost is lower than a controllable guy, but with him pitching like a #2-3 and approximately $3 Mil owed to him he's the kind of guy that any contender could be after. I think Hill would really stabilize the rotation, but I really have no concept of what the A's could command in return.
  6. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 12:36 PM) I just want my life back. What do you think can we get 400 before Yo signs?!
  7. If we let this thread get to 300 before Yo signs, I would be ashamed and embarrassed for us all.
  8. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 19, 2015 -> 01:55 PM) Sonny Gray. A rotation of Sale, Samardzija, Quintana, Gray and Rodon with Danks as the long man would have me giddy. I'd trade Danish, Montas, Hawkins and Micah or Sanchez for him. The Sox would be hard pressed to find a package for Gray. He's young and controllable and exactly what the rebuilding A's need. If the Sox offered a packaged with Anderson, Danish, and Montas, I'm still not convinced the A's would move Sonny. Sticking with the A's as trade partners, A guy like Zobrist to play third and play around the diamond makes a ton of sense.
  9. If the Marlins are looking for pitching, how palatable is a Quintana for Yelich and Cishek trade?
  10. So, Gillaspie batting third and Lindstrom closing games struck me at least somewhat surprising form yesterday. Granted I know its Opening Day and well probably see many lineups, but I can't help but to think about Hahn's impact here. Matt Davidson is the third basemen of the future (technically could be of the present as well), Hahn has made that quite clear. All the beat reports indicate that Nate Jones, Daniel Webb, and now even Maikel Cleto have the potential to be closers. Arbitration statuses of both Jones and Davidson clearly play a role, but I'm thinking more than that. I would say that most believe that Davidson will get significant playing time this year, and I subscribe to this thought process. I believe Gillaspie will be given every opportunity to succeed in the White Sox lineup by batting third, with Eaton getting on and Abreu as protection. I think Hahn is fluffing Gillaspie, if he is competent he should have at least 30-40 RBI by the deadling, in hopes of an overpay and vacating the third baseman duties. I see the same situation with Matt Lindstrom. We saw in the offseason, people overpay for saves. If Lindstrom succeeds in the closer role, his stock skyrockets and the Sox continue collecting young players at the deadline. It may be wishful thinking, but if the Sox do intend to trade Gillaspie and Lindstrom at their peaks of value (using generic stats), we could have another very productive deadline. Alexei and Beckham could be on the move with the middle infielder depth in the Sox system. Thoughts?
  11. Its so disappointing that I am excited about the possibility of Jose Lobaton. We might as well see if Gillaspie can catch. I feel like Lobaton's ceiling is rather "Gillaspian".
  12. I think we should just go by committee and hopeful Jones or anyone for that matter takes the reigns and locks it down. If not its not the end of the world, cause we probably won't contend anyways, I believe within the next year Danish, I know hes only 19, but I think hell be a quick riser, will be given the opportunity in the pen and hopefully the closer's role.
  13. From a Press Release Today: The Chicago White Sox announced an expanded list of former players scheduled to appear at SoxFest 2014, which now includes special guests Bo Jackson, named the Greatest Athlete of All-Time by ESPN's Sport Science, and Jim Thome, whose 612 career home runs place him seventh on the all-time list. Jackson and Thome join current players Jose Abreu, Adam Dunn, Adam Eaton, Avisail Garcia, Erik Johnson, Nate Jones, Paul Konerko, Matt Lindstrom, Josh Phegley, Alexei Ramirez and Marcus Semien, and White Sox prospect Micah Johnson, who all are scheduled to be at SoxFest. Other former Sox players planning to attend, including Ron Kittle, Carlos May, Minnie Minoso, Tom Paciorek, Gary Peters and Frank Thomas. White Sox manager Robin Ventura also will be in attendance, as well as pitching coach Don Cooper and new hitting coach Todd Steverson. LINK: http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...ws&c_id=cws
  14. I mean for the record De Aza is not in the lineup either. And Addison Reed was in the last lineup prior to yesterdays move and today release. I just thought it was weird for them to add Viciedo with Eaton and Konerko and then a week a later, just not name him in the newest lineup. I dont know just something to keep an eye on.
  15. I definitely agree with you in that sense, but Josh Phegley is in the line up... c'mon. If I am paying money to go to SoxFest, I think most people would rather see the Tank then Phegley
  16. About a week, the White Sox released a press release that said, Paul Konerko, Adam Eaton, and Dayan Viciedo have been added the SoxFest lineup. In the press release today that says Bo Jackson and Thome will be at SoxFest, it list all the other players including Konerko and Eaton. However, Viciedo's name is nowhere on the release. Am I looking to far into this stuff or is a Viciedo trade on the horizon?
  17. If we could just some how some way find a quality catcher, I like our chances going into to 2015. We have Dunn, Lindstrom, Konerko, coming off the books which is probably like 17-20 million. Considering we are cutting payroll this year to what seems like mid 80s maybe 90 million, if we win more than we should say 80 ish games, we could see that payroll maybe creep back up to the 110 neighborhood. That could gives us something in the neighborhood of 40 million dollars to play around with. Enough to compete for Headley or Sandoval, and maybe enough to bring a veteran right handed complement to Sale and Quintana. Right handed starters like Shields, Bailey, Masterson, Scherzer are all free agents, heck even Peavy if the price is right. A lot can happen between now and next offseason, but at least for now things dont look so bleak.
  18. Giants backup catcher Hector Sanchez for De Aza, who says no?
  19. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 06:37 PM) Giants need an outfielder. Do they have a catcher? From the looks of it, the back up Hector Sanchez looks pretty good. Young, switching hitting catcher whos blocked by Buster. Anyone know anything else about him? On the surface he looks like a solid add
  20. Who cares where it just means more trades, more excitement
  21. Viciedo, Quintana, and Reed for Montero, Owings, and Eaton What do you guys thing? Fair or Unfair, who gets shafted and how bad?
