  1. The sox have benefited from very talented offensive players from Cuba. With the one exception being Dayon Visciedo. Marco Paddy does a great job finding these guys. Hopefully Colas isn't the second exception. There definitely seems to be talent there. Just how much?
  2. Right. I've seen scouting reports on him (mostly from before he lost weight) but they seem to be all over tbe place on him. Not really sure where he would rank as a prospect with us or as a top 100? Love to see an updated scouting report on him.
  3. Very good. We have a coaching staff. A couple of these guys sound intriguing and good. But honestly, I have no idea. And I lean on those with the knowledge who do know. Is the staff good? It sounds like it. Now we can concentrate on the team.
  4. I mean really the staff should be set by now. Most FAs want to know who the coaches are that They're going to work with. Does Hinch have his entire staff in place? Just a side note, still struggling that AJ Hinch is not with the sox. Didn't realize until I mentioned him. Freakin Reinsdorf!
  5. Has anyone checked Bauer's glove he ordered? Or the cap he's wearing?
  6. Harold are you trying to throw us off the scent to protect the secret?
  7. Lol! My apologies. Not trying to get everyone worked up. Just trying to understand the context of why Sherman would say that.
  8. Anyone catch what Joel Sherman said today on MLB network? "If I had to guess today, Bauer goes to the Whitesox." Someone mentioned it on Twitter. Seeing if he really said that.
  9. And Texas throwing Gallo in the mix doesn't make me feel any better about offering Cease or Dunning either. That's still a hard pass for me.
  10. I think that's a good comp Jack. Especially the Dunning from 2 years ago.
  11. That's what Steve Stone has been pushing for. But the Stone Pony wants this to be permanent.
  12. What everyone in the know has been saying is that Texas was asking for the moon at the deadline. Nobody was willing to make a move with Texas. So yes he will be more affordable now.
  13. I think it has changed the perception of next season. Just look at Atlanta. They recognized that it was a crappy FA market for starting pitchers and jumped on Morton and Smyly early. But spending $26 million doing it on one year deals. After spending that kind of money early, the Braves have got to be thinking that there is going to be a return to normalcy. Or at least something close.
  14. I hope something happens soon. A FA signing, a trade, anything. Sox posters are going after each other. Soxtalk is getting dangerous. Lol
  15. Yes they were. They were a finalist for Tanaka too. Not sure how close they really were to the Yankees winning offer. But you are right. It does matter where the money is spent first.
  16. Your right. And he does credit the blue jays.
  17. If you believe Al's cheesy beef or not - he just reported that the Blue Jays have progressed beyond just talking and are closer than they were. Edit: you beat me to it!
  18. That's exactly what this reminds me of. If I were Springer or his agent I would so wait or encourage him to wait it out. With the sox history of being cheap. I bet there's a team or two circling us right now like vultures. I'm not giving up yet. But this is the kind of thing that really makes being a sox fan difficult. Sox fans we are a special breed! Enduring pain, suffering, and low to below average payrolls.
  19. Yes a couple pages back on this thread. A national article asking where Sprnger was signing. Had Sox and 4 other teams.
  20. I think they want to keep Plesac. Cheaper more control. They're offering Carrasco and Lindor. Cleveland needs to cut about $40m from payroll. Unless that has recently changed.
  21. I would be absolutely shocked if the sox cut Heyward. Not with that kinda salary. Plus the need in right field.
