  1. This second wild card is fantastic for the sport.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:02 PM) He has no apparent fit on anyone's roster for what he is getting paid, so I have no idea who the 3rd team could possibly be and I would have to think Dodgers are sending cash then (to get rid of Morse) or are taking on someone else's contract. $7 mil this year and $8 mil next year.
  3. @jaysonst: Third club in #Dodgers-#Marlins believed to be a team that winds up with Michael Morse. He has no apparent fit on the Dodgers roster.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:57 PM) If fans have been upset at the Sox for mixed messages, I can only imagine how they would have handled being Tigers fans the last week or so. Meh, they've been sucking. We're on a roll. Different circumstances. We're moving up in the standings and they've been on a sharp decline.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:51 PM) Unfortunately the Tigers won't trade Cespedes to us and the Orioles are in the same situation leading us for the WC. Rajai Davis or Avila at least would have been worth considering, especially with McCann obviously the heir-apparent at catcher for next year. Rusney Castillo was essentially just given two months to win the 2016 RF job with the trading of Victorino. Who's left? Holt, Nava, Allen Craig? If we can't come up with something better than Craig, ouch. I agree. Just throwing names out there. We did get Avi from them in that three way deal.
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:52 PM) I like that tweet...go tell Bowden to send it out so we can at least get excited. Puig would be the ultimate get (out of all the names mentioned), imo. I suppose we could be a 3rd team in a deal. Say the Phils want something other then Puig so Sox give up prospects for Puig (to the Phils) and the Phils get Hamels. I don't know that our prospects would be that exciting but hey who knows. It would be a fantastic jolt to this team and fan base.
  7. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:45 PM) Since a Chicago reporter broke the original deal, I gotta assume its us. We like three ways
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:42 PM) Jim Bowden ‏@JimBowden_ESPN 7m7 minutes ago According to sources there is a third team involved in the Dodgers/Marlins trade which is bigger than being reported Puig to Chicago White Sox
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:40 PM) It's amusing that for the last week the talk about the White Sox has been as if Rick Hahn didn't even exist. Like he's lower than Jed Hoyer now and there's no pretending he's calling the shots anymore. All of these NL names like Puig, CarGo, Bruce, Kemp, Carlos Gomez keep coming up...isn't there an AL version of those names? Still think if you're going to take the risk of hamstringing our future payrolls you need to find players who can defend as well as hit...there's not thing worse than a bad contract on a veteran (see Hanley Ramirez) who can't at least offset his hitting with solid defense. Cespedes from Detroit in a three way deal maybe like the Peavy one. I've thrown out Chris Davis as another name maybe even Nelson Cruz if Seattle eats his contract.
  10. @jaysonst: #Tigers called teams today & told them they're "rebooting." Will listen on David Price, Cespedes etc. More to come at http://t.co/gtnhE81RUu
  11. Lol people have been saying if he gets hurt since he was drafted.
  12. This guy is an idiot. At least when I throw trade ideas around they're not dumb and biased. I try to look at it from both teams perspective. This trade is biased and silly.
  13. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:03 PM) Castro apparently is a proven commodity now He's s***ty. He can't save runs worth a f***.
  14. LMAO. Castro sucks. Sale for a s***ty SS and DH? We Alexei Ramirez don't want him. Sale for Bryant, and 4 other prospects.
  15. Quintana Anderson Montas and something else for Longo and pitching prospect. Boom Profit!
  16. Odd for a Tigers writer to tweet this for any purpose other than stirring s*** up.
  17. That green is really bright on this iPhone 6+ lol
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:29 AM) I'm not giving away Erik Johnson at this point, it appears he figure it out and we will need a RHP to replace Shark after this season. I say ride it out with this lineup if you want to contend, if you want to sell, sell now. Rock, are they trying to get a bat like Puig or CarGo?
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:33 AM) Things still have to get better, or at least stay the same, for the Sox in the next 36 hours. If after tomorrow, it's: Min 54-47 Sox 48-52 ...and a couple other teams still ahead of the Sox with more favorable remaining schedules...I'd still trade Samardzija. I said a long time ago the Sox need to be at least 49-51 after 100. They still need to do that. I think at least we'll split tonight and tomorrow.
  20. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:41 AM) Jose Quintana was the 8th best SP in the AL last year and is the 9th best so far this year. I'll be beyond pissed if he's traded. I want Puig. If that means absolutely have to move Quintana for him, then so be it. We need an impact bat in the worst way.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 08:50 PM) Quintana is nothing special. Puig is special. As for Fulmer being in A ball, woopteedoo. The dude will be on the big club next season. You do realize Quintana gets literally no run support. 9/10 he gets like one run of support. He's one of the most underrated pitchers in all of baseball and is left handed. Not to mention he is under control at a very team friendly contract. His value is really high. Quintana a few starts ago, I seen a tweet from someone. It showed his last like 6 starts and he got 0, 1, 1, 1, 1, 0. I'll look it up. Edit: found it. I was 3 games off and it was his last 9 losses. @ckamka: Jose Quintana is 4-9. White Sox runs scored in the 9 losses: 1-0-1-1-1-0-0-1-1
  22. What's funny about people saying Q isn't special or isn't that good. Whelp I don't know how close he is, but he has to be up there with worst run support of all time.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 06:36 AM) Less than a week ago, the Sox were in last place. They are now just as close to a playoff spot as they are last place. If only Robertson didn't give up that triple to Molina. Meh, or Shark giving up the grand slam in Detroit to Cespedes.
  24. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:59 PM) These are just two of many Samardzija alternatives (not paying him $105 million for 5 years, where he'd be 36 or 37 at the end of the deal)....in free agency this coming off-season. Not for current trades. Fathom remarked the only way he'd deal Quintana would be if Shark signed an extension. Exactly. There's a bunch of options for us to sign a pitcher in the offseason.
