  1. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 04:13 PM) I dont think there will be a Boston deal without benintendi. I can't imagine not getting Moncada and Benny for Sale or Q.
  2. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 04:06 PM) With our luck, they'll agree to a great deal in principle. Then Chris Sale will break his hand punching a wall, thus killing the deal. Get that nonsense out of here
  3. f*** off kindly Kenny. That better be posturing.
  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) Yeah. This is why I'm fine with keeping or trading them. They both could command huge ransom's. Or we still have them, which isn't a bad place to be. Not at all. It'd just force Hahn to become really creative or JR to sack up and spend for a high ticket FA bat. Depending on the progress of talks about Q, if any, I'd consider skipping Q until after the deadline. I know people would hate it but it wouldn't be the worst thing to protect him from injury while you engage in trade talks at the deadline.
  5. Would they change course after saying they weren't buying? I find it hard to believe. Also if they did and it didn't work out, we'd be right back where we are now. Maybe even worse off considering what we'd be dealing.
  6. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 03:32 PM) Agreed. No offense to Bradley, but I'd take Moncada, Benintendi and (theoretically) Betts ahead of him. And agreed. Those two plus other significant pieces. If you read my idea you'd understand why I came up with Bradley Jr instead of Betts.
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 03:30 PM) I thought that was saying it would happen and was floored. Lol increase your heart rate some? Well there goes my JBJ idea
  8. Media is talking about it picking up over the weekend. I'm curious if it'll pickup around Qs next start.
  9. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 03:07 PM) I mean, I certainly hope you're right. I just don't think Boston would take that kind of risk. That package, in current value, might be the largest collection of prospect talent to ever be traded. I hope I'm certainly right because the Cubs gave up 4 prospects to rent Chapman. Now we'll see if he signs an extension soon or not. For the Sox benefit, I hope Bostons rotation continues to struggle to force their hand. I say Boston in particular because I believe they have the most ammo and best shot at getting either Sale or Quintana.
  10. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 03:11 PM) Given the SP market and that Betts/Bradley/Bogaerts are likely off the table, if Sale doesn't net you both Moncada and Benintendi, then we might as well just keep him. Exactly. It's just not worth it. Better off to wait til the offseason to see if you could pry one of the Bs and top prospects.
  11. Would be nice to get something back to the equivalent of Tatis Jr. Not sure what he'll be in the end because he's very very young still. I'm not sure what Shields' value is considering his just recent streak of decent outings and contact going forward. Would be crazy if they dealt all four starters (Sale, Q, Shields and Gonzalez). The rotation would be ass but we'd have a completely overhauled farm system and maybe some young potential TOR arms to go along with Rodon, Fulmer.
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 02:54 PM) When Q's curveball is going, it can be an out pitch. Just not to the level of Sale's slider/curve or Rodon's slider when on. You got what I was saying though right? It's a fun debate because I love them both. Would miss them a lot if they're traded.
  13. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 02:44 PM) No chance we'd get both Moncada and Benintendi, but either is perfectly reasonable as a centerpiece if the other pieces are strong. Benintendi is going to be an absolute monster. The contact rate is good, the plate discipline is good, and I've seen the power with my own eyes -- he played our team the year he was drafted, and hit two homers, one of which is the only ball I've ever seen clear the fence, the road, and land in the water outside the Staten Island Ferry. The pop is legit. IMO, considering the trade value we've seen for the likes of Shelby Miller in the off-season, recently Pomeranz and Chapman, Sale and Quintana BOTH should net those two. Now maybe you could argue for Quintana, after those two monster prospects, there may be a drop off of prospects to finish the deal. Whereas, trading Sale you'll land all of their top 4-5 prospects not just 2-3. What I mean is say: Sale equals Moncada, Benintendi, Devers, Kopech and Swihart. Maybe you wouldn't get Devers and Kopech as well so would have to settle for one or the other and Swihart. I don't know man. I wish I was in the know so I could figure out what each might net from Boston. Just my two cents if that makes sense. Couldn't explain it that well lol sorry.
  14. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 02:50 PM) I like it. Still think we need Benintendi, as well as Moncada, in any deal with the BoSox. Bradley Jr. doesn't excite me that much, honestly. But what Bradley gives us is a legit CF. It's a trade off for not getting Benintendi because I don't think we'd get all 3 of JBJ, Moncada and Benny. Just wanted to throw something well thought out out there for y'all.
  15. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 12:01 PM) i do not. i think he is better and more valuable due to his "stuff" and talent. I do think wins are important in the overall scheme but not for individual trade value. The thing that keeps Q from being a better pitcher IMO is Sale has an out pitch. The wipeout slider. Q has to use pinpoint command and control. The thing I like about Quintana however is his gutsy performances out of jams. Sale can get pissed off and rattled whereas Q seems like he can stay level headed and in charge. I'd take Sale over Quintana but it's not a huge gap. The thing I'm curious to see is Q vs Sale in playoff games. That's got my intrigue if they're traded.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 11:43 AM) Man I love the idea of unloading Q for Alex Reyes ++ and then Sale for Julio Urias ++. But where's the position players? That's why I like Sale to Boston IF he's dealt. If not, then Q to Boston. I will say I'm not familiar with STL farm system.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 02:35 PM) A for creativity Lol I was bored and tried. I was like how can I create a crazy three way deal between Boston, LA and ChiSox. Tried to move parts around and explain why I did what I did. If anyone takes that serious and gets pissed then that's on them. Pure entertainment on my part.
  18. Here's my just got home bored Three Way Deal: Red Sox get: Chris Sale, David Robertson, Yasiel Puig Dodgers get: Jose Quintana, Melky Cabrera, Nate Jones White Sox get: From Boston Jackie Bradley Jr. Moncada Devers Kopech Swihart From Dodgers Urias De Leon Bellinger Alvarez Dodgers missed on Hamels and Sale but land Quintana, Cabrera to replace Puig (whom they may trade) and bolster their pen with Jones who is on a team friendly contract. Cabrera, with one more year on his deal, is an upgrade over Puig for the Dodgers because of his consistent offense. Red Sox get their man in Chris Sale and the extra closer they were eyeing in Robertson plus Puig to replace Bradley Jr. They move Betts back to CF where he played last season. They lose some going from JBJ to Puig (Puig still has a ton of potential and change of scenery may help) but most importantly it helps DD land the ace he's wanted since the Sox started listening to offers for Sale. Like always DD gets his man. White Sox and Hahn get their 5 big time player package they wanted for Sale and get a great return on Quintana to completely overhaul the lineup and farm system. Hahn couldn't pry Betts but got a fine All Star CF who is controllable til 2020 in Jackie Bradley Jr. Also receives 4 top prospects from the Red Sox that bolster a farm system lacking top end talent. For Quintana and Jones to LA he lands future top of the rotation arm in Julio Urias along with 4 prospects out of LA's system to further aid in the reshaping of the Sox farm system and set them up nicely in the future. Was just doing this for fun and wanted to see how I could make a sensible three way deal considering the sox love those. Look forward to being ripped for this LOL.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 09:23 PM) Cause the story makes it look like they flat out ignored the request of Sale days, if not longer in advance. Did he handle it well? Hell no, but he has a point The whole staff needs to go
  20. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 09:13 PM) I think we all knew that was going to happen I'm not even upset because I knew it'd happen.
  21. You're lucky if Albers holds the lead for one inning let alone two. Should've just used Fulmer or Jennings either way.
  22. Just gona let Albers finish this one way or the other huh?
  23. Albers is gona blow this isn't he? Lol
  24. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:46 PM) What did he say? Was upset Robin didn't back him. He's throwing the manager under the bus. That's not good for Robin. Shows he really has no control but merely exists.
