Jeez. This is turning into a complete cluster f***
-
Man it sounds like there's a decent chance this happens. Still I'd be stunned
-
I'm not a fan of their farm system. Much rather be Boston or LA

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) I love fans saying teams won't part with some of these names. Well, you don't get Chris Sale in that case. Bingo. I'm sorry but you gota give up a lot for him. You have to give up quite a bit for Quintana. They have a ton of value. The sox don't need to move them. They're under control for a few more seasons.

QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:20 AM) After seeing what was given up for Shelby Miller they are really better off just waiting over the next 2 years then to deal Sale/Q and pick off some desperate team that has to have either pitcher. I don't want to see them moved for a mediocre package it's got to be one that everyone is blown away by. There should be no sense of urgency to move those two by the end of July. That's what they're doing.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:17 AM) The Redsox aren't trading those 2 in July. If the Sox want one, wait until the offseason to fashion a trade. What they should do is ask for their top 5 prospects, and then bargain down from there. Top ML ready prospects is where the surplus lies this time of year...not with major league players. That's how you find players to fill multiple holes. If the Sox got Betts, that would be about it, except, perhaps for a low level prospect or 2. Don't trade him if that's the case. That's why he won't be traded. Yet anyway.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 11:35 PM) Everyone knows that if you trade Sale, you need an almost guaranteed perennial All-Star in return, right? Like, Sale isn't a "well we're not winning so f*** it we'll take what we can get" trade. That's why I said Bryant and a couple people freaked out like I'm an idiot. Sale has a few more years of control. It's not like he's a FA after the year.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 09:47 PM) I smell what you're stepping in, but I agree with some of the others who think you've got to step up and trade a guy like Russell for someone like Sale. I've been a proponent of moving Sale for 2 years now. He simply came along at the wrong time for us. That doesn't mean he can't have a place in our next playoff run; it just won't be with him in our uniform. That being said, Sale is the type of player that you have to make an opposing GM give up a player that truly causes him pain. I'm not sure if that is Bryant, but it certainly could be a guy like Russell. I get it...teams don't want to subtract from the big league club in a playoff race, but teams don't generally trade HOF caliber SPs with team-friendly pitchers either. This isn't going to happen because a team moves all prospects - no matter how many - this happens because a team goes out on a limb and moves their young star that it was ultra painful to move but they decided to move because they determined Sale could get them a championship. We all know who that team is. It sure as hell isn't the Cubs. It's Dave Dombrowski and the Boston Red Sox. Bingo. He's swings for the fences. Ala David Price

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 09:13 PM) Eaton leaves game... Fouled one off his right foot earlier IIRC

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 09:07 PM) If we can some how get Mazara I would be on board I would almost bet Boston antes up for Quintana.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 09:04 PM) Stoney rather adamant that the Rangers are going to add a TOR starter. I'm just not as high on their system. I'm hoping for Q to Boston. That's best for us.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 08:56 PM) They are for sure selling, I wouldn't worry Yesterday's quotes by Hahn were eye opening considering previous years. It's coming.
-
QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 08:55 PM) Yankees won. Could do with them going on a nice run to make it even more of a seller's market. *crosses fingers*
-
Good just lose now and don't let it go to extras lol
-
Fun bad
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 08:51 PM) Yep, send him to AAA to work on his command. I'd send him back to AA. He wasn't shutting people down necessarily
-
Fulmer needs to go back to the minors now that this team is done.
-
He has zero control. Bring in Jones.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 08:41 PM) Some of these moves just make no sense. Desperate
-
Back to AA after the game please. Got his taste now go work on things more.
-
This'll get ugly now. What an awful decision to bring him up so soon
-
Fulmer was so rushed to the bigs
-
Ya, I'll take Navarez over Navarro
-
Sorry Cubbies. It starts with Bryant.
