  1. Let's see how Avi won't get these runners in
  2. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 06:15 PM) Rodon continues to disappoint He's very young and still maturing.
  3. What a throw considering he dove then had to get up with a runner in his way.
  4. Brett! Helluva play! That's smart baseball
  5. Only give up a run if need be. Let's go Carlos!
  6. I'm greedy sweep the Yanks and Braves and go into the break on nice win streak Looking forward to a dominate outing for Rodon. Started out good against Minnesota then had a rough 6th inning.
  7. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) With all the ridiculous things you post all the time, the most hilarious thing is your continual defense of Rios. It also completely goes against your entire philosophy, it's a complete mystery. Being on a team that won the World Series doesn't mean that player was any good. And the fact that De Aza (-1.1 WAR this year) is still playing isn't an actual argument for anything. IIRC De Aza was awful is why we didn't get anything. Rios had a bloated contract and is why we got him from Toronto for nothing. Basically what we did too.
  8. Just want to make sure he doesn't come up and walk everyone and their mother and be a disaster. We'll see how he does in AA.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 02:17 PM) There definitely appears to be a plan. If he struggles, I wouldn't rush him.
  10. Definitely on the fast track we'll see how he does.
  11. I don't see the Bulls really being in it and I just think Wades camp is using them as leverage.
  12. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 12:02 PM) Sox will not be trading for Ryan Braun. Thank god!
  13. Morneau buys us a little time. Reddick or Lucroy would tickle me to death. Then add a reliever or two. Plus we'll have options in the minors, so reinforcements are on the way.
  14. I posted this this weekend in one of the recaps in future sox. I find it hard to believe but not impossible.
  15. @ChuckGarfien Most hits in the American League in the last 7 days: Tim Anderson 12 Josh Donaldson 12 Jose Ramirez 12 Kendrys Morales 12 Tim is a multi-hit game machine right now. So awesome to have a hitter come up and produce. His defense has been better than advertised. Plus as he said, he's playing on professional fields now not minor league fields. I honestly think he'll improve his BB rate as he gets older and matures. He's held off on some pitches that Avi always swings at. He may never take a ton of BBs but he gets on base and his speed is a legit threat that will scare some teams once he learns these pitchers moves and starts swiping bases at a good clip.
  16. There was no harm in trading for shields. Paying some of that contract may make some mad but if he pitches like has his last three starts its worth it.
  17. Trading for a controllable bat is ideal. Wonder what SD would want for Myers?
  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 4, 2016 -> 10:55 PM) 1) at the Yankees needing to improve the back end of the bullpen. 2) Sox backend is fine. It's Albers, Ynoa and Beck that need replacing. Sucks that Cat Albers is MIA I want a couple of arms by the deadline
  19. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 4, 2016 -> 10:28 PM) Jackson also most likely won't be there next year so getting a controllable guy like Peralta is something Hahn has to take into consideration. Just depends on if he can play CF good enough to stick there since I have no idea. If he can he helps out this year and next in many different ways. 1. Adds LH pop to the lineup this year and beyond when we lose Jackson and Morneau. 2. Allows Eaton and Melky to stay in their ideal positions. 3. Helps the bench by adding Jackson to it as a PH , PR, defensive replacement and platoon partner against left handers 4. Should cost less to obtain thus perserving more minor league depth than Reddick, Beltran, Bruce, Braun , Gardner and Myers Peralta from who the Diamondbacks?
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 4, 2016 -> 09:45 PM) And how many other weaknesses did I list? 9? But the same point can be made about the White Sox, and Omarscoming tried to argue it isn't...that it's actually a strength. And just because it's a COMPARATIVE weakness to the other elements of their team doesn't mean it's bad/terrible/preventing them from becoming a playoff team. There's no team (this year) in the Central without bullpen problems, the Royals included. Hochevar and Soria haven't been as good as expected, Duffy had to be moved back to the rotation and Collins still isn't back from TJ. So I would say KC doesn't have anywhere near the pen they did in 2014-15, although calling it an actual weakness might be pushing the definition of weakness a bit. Let's just say even the Yankees would like to improve the back end of their bullpen (hence, moving Eovaldi and possibly Pineda there). They don't need back end pen help.
  21. Would love to add a couple arms in the pen (I know we have some options in the minors as well) like Rzepczynski-OAK and Vizcaino-ATL, then a bat and let's see how this team does to finish the season.
