Weaver is better than Danks. At least Weaver has some control of his pitches. This is more embarrassing for the Angels than the Sox.

This is probably the end of Danks' career. Maybe another start or two but I doubt he even tempts free agency. He's only still playing because the Sox will give $15m to do it.

This is with John Danks being a gas can, Sale having an inauspicious start and Rodon getting RAVAGED by the Angels that one game. I dont think Latos finishes with an ERA <1.00, but other than that I dont see too much about the Sox pitching now that cant be sustained. The Sox have been investing in these guys for years and now they have a killer rotation and lights-out bullpen. This is not an accident, if the Mets were putting up these numbers (they kind of are, but NL is a baby league) would you think its unsustainable? Why cant it be for the Sox?

The margin of error set by an offense that scores ~2 per game doesn't allow for much. Maybe they got lucky that time, but now the closer has to navigate some pretty rough waters with only a 1-run lead because defense didn't get it done.

If the Sox aren't gonna score they to be perfect in the other facets. They are going to lose this game because Frazier/Sands blew that play.
