That's because he is the rare pitcher these days who truly seems to have a rubber arm. I like Quintana, I think he's a very good pitcher, I think he can be the #2 on playoff team. He does hold himself back sometimes, especially with the nibbling. But the nibbling is part of his essence so I forgive it.

This is quite the battle here.

He definitely has "bad luck", more so than most pitchers, but its usually in the form of garbage defense. There are many games where the Sox have given Quintana a lead and Quintana hasn't held it. Maybe its been only a 1 or 2 run lead, but a top 20 pitcher holds that lead more often than not IMO.
