I would kill to put a ~90 wRC+ hitter in RF/LF and move Melky to DH. One less automatic out and even better OF defense.

And they both got torched. Rusney Castillo is a bigger weight on Red Sox payroll than Pablo Sandoval (OK maybe that's stretching it a little too far). The Cuban ballplayer trendiness among ML GM's has definitely fallen off since Puig/Abreu set the bar so high.

I'm starting to worry this is more than just one of Abreu's slumps. He's never looked this bad.

Its not that the offense is necessarily bad (it is quite bad), but once the Sox trail the game feels over. They seem incapable of recovering once they lose the lead and immediately act like every AB is their last even if its only the 5th inning. If the Sox score first they seem to do OK, or at least be mediocre.

Gotta set up the GIDP. Gotta give Robin credit, he knows the Sox chances of winning this game become non-existent if the runner on 3rd scores. EDIT- what is going on now

Gotta keep the Angels from tacking on an insurance run... the only hope the Sox realistically have is Rollins/Abreu/Frazier just running into one to tie.

Abreu will break out of his slump, but other than that I dont see this getting much better. Eaton, Lawrie and Melky should at least be OK but the rest of it is a walking disaster.
