  1. Konerko and Sherm Lollar were way faster than Kirk, might be a bit overweight.
  2. Looks like they brought him up too early.
  3. I got along with Brian26 except when it came to JR, Brian was definitely in JRs corner, I haven’t been in JRs corner since 1983.
  4. Yours truly is Little Nell and thanks for remembering me and the nice words, I still post there occasionally because there are people like Big Klu, 34 Rancher, Berwyn, thomas35, NoNeck and a few others that I still like interacting with. That guy doublem23 drove me crazy, extremely argumentative. Fenway was a fun guy but I never figured out why he was on WSI as he loved the Red Sox but he should have never been banned. Voodoo is no longer an administrator but does a good job with his minor league report, I think dumpjerry is the only administrator now and he’s fine, can’t remember the last time someone was banned, some posts have been roadhoused. Nellie Fox was from Minnesota but a native Chicagoan and a fellow Vietnam Vet and has had health issues, hasn’t posted for a couple of years.
  5. Exactly, you need to stop this culture of losing and have the best chance of winning games. Even the Rockies put together a little winning streak but Venable with these asinine lineups isn’t giving the team a chance.
  6. In a perfect world there wouldn’t be such a thing as framing with umpires knowing exactly if the ball was a strike as they should.
  7. This Palisch guy hasn’t fooled anyone.
  8. I agree, bring the kids up instead of watching vets at the end of their careers. You can keep Slater and Taylor just for 4th and 5th outfielders and insurance for injuries but I don’t want to see these guys starting anymore, they have a good game once in awhile but never were great in their careers, they’re low or mid 600 OPS guys.
  9. He showed some power in the minors but now is just a singles and doubles guy, that’s OK but he then needs to hit .300 to help.
  10. No Beckham, they knew Luis Robert would kill any kind of a rally as he promptly GIDP.
  11. You have a guy who struck out 4 times last night leading off, probably never led off in his life. (He did single for the only Sox hit). I’m not sure what Venable is trying to accomplish with these goofy lineups,
  12. Spot on, the hiring of TLR II followed by the hiring of Grifol just about destroyed the franchise, we are still cursed with the ownership which will hopefully be rectified soon. Even though we still are bad it’s encouraging to see the current players hustling and busting their butts, some credit has to be given to Venable and his staff as just a year ago we still had Grifol in the dugout with a lot of players with bad attitudes.
  13. Schriffen way over the top again but Luis really hurt that ball.
  14. Thanks. White Sox way is to sit him for a week or so and then put him on the IL.
  15. What’s the word on Tauchman, IL or day by day or the White Sox way.
  16. Wintrust Field at Armour Square would have worked for me but I’m not big on corporate names for Pro Sports venues so any new stadium should be White Sox Park.
  17. Yep, passed through Placida last week on the way to Boca Grande.
  18. Of course the Black Sox scandal and then there was Chris Sale imitating Edward Scissorshand. Who can forget Disco Demolition Night where we had to forfeit the second game. Then there was the game Bill Veeck thought it was a great idea for the Sox to wear shorts.
  19. Well yeah, I’ll be 80 pretty soon.
  20. I’m still mad at him for not starting Billy Pierce in the Series but game 2 was the key game which I attended. The Sox were rallying in the 7th inning but 3B coach Tony Cuchienello was the goat of the series when he sent slow runner home with the tying run with no outs and he was out by so much he didn’t bother sliding. Lopez did make a blunder starting Early Wynn in game 6 on 2 days rest, at the time most thought it was a good idea, Wynn was the Cy Young winner in 59 but unfortunately he was gassed and the Dodgers jumped all over him early and the Series was over.
