  1. Every pitcher we face looks like Nolan Ryan or Steve Carlton.
  2. Nat Lowe has really put on the weight since his rookie year with the Rays.
  3. Thats exactly why he was key but that’s on Venable too for batting Mune clean up.
  4. That wasn’t a great throw but Mune came up with it.
  5. Vargas was the key guy in the first inning.
  6. Kolson shouldn’t be playing either but who takes their place, I guess Acuna at SS but if Vargas moves to first who plays 3rd.
  7. Good question unless he’s got a really bad flu bug.
  8. I agree on the teams of the past not having guys as big, fast and athletic as the modern day player but somehow the game just isn’t as good and as you said it is what it is. No one is forcing me to watch but I still love the White Sox.
  9. It wasn’t massive, it was definitely higher, up around the top of the letters but still at the knees and not any wider.
  10. One saving grace is we will have an easier schedule after this series but like you said we have to win at least a game in the series, if we somehow win 2 it would be like manna from heaven. If the Guards sweep us, its probably over with a WC the only hope.
  11. That team won like most White Sox teams of the 1950s and 1960s with pitching, defense and speed and had over 700 more hits than Ks. The only reason that they had more Ks than walks is that pitchers had to hit in those days, the position players had more BBs than Ks. Since we are looking at the 1959 Sox, there’s only one team in the AL this year that has a team batting average higher than the .250 of the 1959 Sox and of course it’s the Rays at .261.
  12. That comment by Kolson really has me steaming. The Rays who have already won 90 games are one of the few teams this year with more hits than Ks and by over 300, the Sox are just about the complete opposite. The Rays have played old time baseball this year which is really refreshing, I’m so tired of the modern game with strikeout after strikeout and all this BS about bat speed and launch angles and that Ks are just another out. We really don’t have to go back that far like the 1950s for old time baseball, our 2005 World Champion White Sox had 450 more hits than Ks and could beat teams all different kinds of ways, remember Ozzie’s Small Ball. The Sox can’t trade Kolson Montdumbery fast enough.
  13. Mune and Kolson now at .206, they will both end the season batting in the .190s.
  14. That’s what I think, Meidroth would do fine at SS but other changes are needed, Home Runs are great but you can’t have a one dimensional offense, you need to make contact and win with base hits.
  15. Unbelievable quote but that’s why we are where we are right now and the guys that I blame are the hitting coach and the manager.
  16. Yeah, nowhere to hide them except on the bench.
  17. I have a hunch that Colson isn’t all that smart.
