  1. With the garbage on this team, does it really matter.
  2. Then just sit his sorry ass at the end of the bench for a month or so.
  3. This is just me but we moved out to Bloomingdale and then Wheaton in DuPage county in the early 70s and let me tell you it was a lot easier getting up to bet on the nags at Arlington Park then to get to old and new Comiskey. We moved to Florida in 1993 so I’m not sure how the traffic patterns have changed but I would guess that the many Sox fans who live in the SW suburbs wouldn’t have a problem if the Sox moved to Arlington Heights. The fans who would be hurt most would are probably those who live in the South burbs and NW Indiana along with those who live in the city and rely on the CTA to get to places but the Metro NW commuter line stops at the Arlington Park site so I don’t see much of a problem there for city fans.
  4. If they wind up with only around 30 wins then the Commissioner should step in and force JR to sell much the same way that Charlie Finley was not allowed to complete a trade where he traded away most of the Oakland A’s back in 1976 citing as it wasn’t in the best interest of Baseball. It’s obvious the Sox are again fielding a AAA team with JR refusing to spend money and put together a competitive club which upsets the competitive balance in the game, if this isn’t a detriment and not in the best interest to the game, I don’t know what is.
  5. Not going to happen until new ownership.
  6. Only one game but hopefully a sign of a halfway decent season, you never know what’s going to happen but when a team starts believing in themselves good things can happen.
  7. Only one answer……our illustrious GM Chris Getz.
  8. Great video, I enjoy it every time I see it but unfortunately because JR has run this franchise into the ground there aren’t many in Chicago that are proud of the White Sox.
  9. I hear you but this team won’t come anywhere close to the 1977 and 1990 teams, a depressing 50 wins seem about right.
  10. The lowest home opener attendance that I remember was in 1968 when they drew only 7,500, it was during the riots after the assassination of Martin Luther King. 1968 was also the year that White Sox winning baseball that lasted 17 straight seasons came to an end.
  11. I can see maybe getting excited about Canario.
  12. Only 3-4 true Major Leaguers on the roster, I still can’t figure out what what Getz is doing and what the game plan is, he continues to bring on has been or never were players from other organizations, I may be wrong but everyone of them has been a failure as as much as Getz has thus his F- grade.
  13. There’s a good possibility this team will be just as bad as last year.
  14. There’s a reason nothing has been built there since it was railroad yard, I’m not sold on it being a place that would cure all the Sox woes. I’m thinking of the suburbs like the Braves entertainment area or even building a jewel of a ballpark on the site of old Comiskey with an emphasis on building up the area along with a modern day Comiskey with no upper deck in left field so the skyline would be visible, of course no posts and the lower bowl with seats down the lines facing the infield, Busch Stadium in St.Louis would be a good model but as I said with no UD in left field. PNC Park would also be a great model without the huge scoreboard in left field as that would block out views of the skyline. Somehow the fan base must return to past levels, that’s a monumental task as Reinsdorf has basically destroyed it, Ishbia if he buys the franchise is going to have to spend a lot of money and bring in quality free agents and give the fans some kind of hope.
  15. Correct, the ballpark is in fine shape, easy to get to, plenty of parking and excellent public transportation. The problem is that the perception by many is that it’s in a bad neighborhood, real Sox fans know that’s not true. I never had trouble going to over 200 games from 1955 until we moved to Florida in 1993 but history shows that the Sox were never a huge draw at 35th and Shields, one of the few MLB teams that has failed to draw 3 million in a season, came close twice but no cigar, pretty sad for a Major market team.
  16. He came on pretty good the last month of 2024.
  17. Eddie Einhorn was a bigger jerk than Reinsdork.
