  1. I’m old school and no matter what anyone says, the contact play is horrible and bad baseball made even worse when you have a slow boat like AV on third.
  2. Maybe he has some pull in bringing the Football Cardinals back to Chicago.
  3. Someone on one of the National news shows said he’s a Cub fan.
  4. I always liked Aranda, never got much playing time but now that he’s a regular he’s producing, I’d take him over Vaughn in a heartbeat.
  5. There are bunches of golf courses in the area, maybe they could give a course owner an offer he couldn’t refuse.
  6. Somewhere near Oakbrook would be my first choice, that is just about smack dab in the middle of the Metro area, I always thought that the Addison location was good but that’s dead. I don’t have anything against the South Loop but the 78 isn’t a great spot, Roosevelt road is raised at the 78 so that’s a problem. Not a lot of good traffic patterns to the south and not that much room for parking. Fans I believe would have to rely on public transportation getting there, of course that hasn’t hurt the Cubs except Wrigley is in a neighborhood where thousands and thousands of fans can walk to Cub games. The area around the United Center is a possibility, JR has bought tons of land around there, why? The Hawks and Bulls going back to the good old days of Chicago Stadium never had problems with attendance there and it was horrible neighborhood at one time.
  7. The Sox will never become lovable losers because only a few of us love them along with an unlovable ballpark in an unlovable part of town. A new ball park somewhere in the Chicago Metro area but not at 35th and Shields would help along with new ownership.
  8. The Sox could have won all three games, I’m seeing guys at the plate with horrible at bats swinging at pitches head high or down in the dirt, granted some are just plain bad hitters but maybe try something different like maybe a bunt or working the count, they have no idea what manufacturing runs mean. How much longer before they give Elko a shot.
  9. Remember it well, I was bagging oranges at the Kroger store in Rogers Park where I had an after school job and was listening to the game on a pocket transistor radio, I always thought that Big Nick was going to be another Mickey Mantle, obviously that didn’t happen.
  10. Yes he’s hurt, some kind of leg tightness.
  11. This is for me actually hard, we’ve had so many bad players in my 73 years of being a Sox fan but because to me to be on a Mt. Rushmore of Infamy you have to be despised and there are only 2 individuals that I’ve really detested in those years and they are Claudell Washington and Pedro Grifol, I guess I could add Ron Santo but I really can’t think of a 4th guy. Chris Sale and scissor gate could get him a spot but he was so good for us it’s hard to add him. If we are adding owners to the equation then it’s without a doubt, Jerry Reinsdorf and this isn’t something new, I never cared or trusted the man along with his buddy Eddie Einhorn going back to 1983.
  12. I don’t know how much longer they can go with him especially with Elko tearing it up in Charlotte.
  13. 2 things, I think this team will improve as the weeks go by, might win more than 60 games. Second thing is, Schriffen is also improving.
  14. Can we send Vaughn to AZ also?
  15. I’m not sure Veneble was the right guy for manager, I thought Sizemore deserved a shot at a full season after doing a half way decent job last year with basically a AAA team.
  16. He’s about the opposite of a 5 tool player.
  17. Me too but Leasure caught a break on that 3-2 pitch.
  18. You just know they won’t hold the lead.
  19. It’s too early, once we see some warm weather they will have a better idea.
  20. Vargas! All right, we have our 3 runs, gotta hold em
