  1. Naturally the possibility of new ownership is exciting. I’m pretty excited about Teel. I’m fairly excited about Montgomery. When you know we are looking at another 100+ losses in 2025 it’s hard to get excited about anything else, we have a ton of guys that have to prove themselves this year so a year from now if some of these guys pan out things will be more exciting going into 2026.
  2. Sox down 9-0, I know it’s Spring Training but this culture of losing has to stop.
  3. Great movie, round up the usual suspects.
  4. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/angels-face-setback-as-rendon-s-replacement-hits-injury-list-ahead-of-spring/ar-AA1zArEl?ocid=winp2fptaskbar&cvid=f8196cf6d0344698abe9f4f8e2f05a37&ei=13
  5. For some reason I’ve always remembered another guy the Sox received in that trade by the name of Dominick Zanni, lasted a year and a half with the Sox.
  6. Very reliable out of the bullpen with those great Sox pitching staffs in the 1960s. Another pitcher along with Wilbur Wood who Hoyt Wilhelm taught how to throw the Knuckleball. May he rest in peace.
  7. I can’t get excited until JR actually relinquishes control of the franchise, if and when that happens it will be one of the happiest days of my life.
  8. I trust Getz with following through with a successful rebuild as far as I can throw him.
  9. With moves like this one has to be really concerned with Getz and his modus operandi. IMHO the guy is a disaster and has no business being the GM of a MLB franchise. I’m starting to despise him as much as Reinsdorf and Grifol.
  10. Exactly, they continue to alienate what remains of a small fan base and in a few years no one will care if they decide to leave Chicago. A little bit of me still cares but it continues to dwindle.
  11. So what has happened since Jerkdorf said that he’s was open to selling the Club, have there been any offers?
  12. You’re right but the White Sox have been a big part of my life, the last 2 years have been horrible and this year will be horrible also, just can’t get myself to laugh about it. Depression is probably the wrong word, what is right is utter detest for Reinsdorf and what he has done to the franchise. I turn 79 on Wednesday and am in pretty good shape but who knows if I will be around to see the Sox as World Series contenders again, with Reinsdorf still running things I’m not holding my breath.
  13. I don’t remember that either, after Addison turned the Sox down, Governor Thompson, Mayor Washington and the State of Illinois agreed to build the new stadium but only where it is right now. Back in the 1960s Mayor Richard J. Daley and Arthur Allyn talked about a Sports Complex with a new Sox stadium, a new Bears stadium and a new Blackhawks arena in the “78”. Bears wanted nothing to do with it and that was that.
  14. If I were still living up there I would be at the point that they would have to pay me to attend a game. The whole scenario of 27 games for 125 bucks is actually embarrassing as they are just about giving away the product, has any other MLB team done something like this? This is the most depressed I’ve been since I became a Sox fan in 1952.
  15. I won’t be surprised if less than 30K show up for the opener.
  16. Robert should look at the career of Ernie Banks who is turning in his grave looking at Robert who is throwing his career away. Banks in his first 13 years with the Flubs played on losing teams but maintained a great attitude while winning 2 MVP awards.
  17. Maybe, but the most reprehensible person in sports is still the owner and the GM is still way in over his head. There isn’t one player that I can really get excited about. Bright side is the manager might be pretty good, my guess is they improve 10 games and finish 51-111 and for the first time in team history lose 100 or more games 3 years in a row.
  18. Jerry Reinsdorf who is the worst owner in pro sports has turned the White Sox into an irrelevant laughing stock and if he has just an ounce of shame in him must sell the team. On another note has Chicago ever experienced such horrible seasons by their professional teams, the Sox, Blackhawks and Bears are all just about the worst teams in their respective leagues with the Bulls mediocre, in 2024 the Cubs were the only team that had a winning record. I remember things pretty bad in the 1970s but not this bad.
  19. Probably damn proud of it.
  20. Just a crime for a big market club.
  21. Agree, Getz and Reinsdorf haven’t done a damn thing to improve the team from last year’s disaster, if they trade Benintendi and Robert this will be the lowest payroll in MLB and quite possibly the lowest in recent memory. .
  22. This is surprising, the Rays front office is smarter than this. If he does make it to the big club, he better hustle, Kevin Cash won’t put up with the Eloy we have witnessed the last few years.
  23. You hit the nail right on the head, another 41-121 season is more than a possibility. I really would like to know what is going on with JR’s mindset.
