  1. Just a note, last nights Dodger starter Bobby Miller who is coming back from an injury is the Grandson of my best friend when I was growing up in Rogers Park. In 1965 I enlisted in the Air Force and my buddy who was also named Bob and Bobby was named after was drafted by the Army. We both wound up in Vietnam but he was deployed in the jungles of the Central Highlands and came back with PTSD and had other issues and died at age 61. He never saw his grandson play baseball beyond his grade school years.
  2. We are 27th only ahead of Miami and Oakland and going ahead of TB last night but doing better than I thought, I thought the Sox would average around 12,000 a game.
  3. Didn’t realize this but just read that since Willie Mays died the oldest living member of the Hall of Fame is White Sox great Luis Aparicio at 90 years old.
  4. But JR still pays bills which doesn’t include signing top free agents and building an excellent farm system. The only housecleaning which will work is new ownership.
  5. Hey LaRussa, just retire already but before you do please advise your buddy Reinsdorf to sell the team.
  6. Whose job would he taking if he played everyday, that’s right the outstanding Andrew Benintendi who is the biggest flop since the Edsel.
  7. Either that or maybe there are some issues with the guy we don’t know about, something isn’t right. We know that Grifol doesn’t care for him but if Getz wanted this guy out there everyday then he would be out there everyday.
  8. I haven’t been a big fan of Colas but what the Sox have done to this guy is a crime, do the guy a favor and trade him.
  9. There’s no way in hell they can bring back Griawfol next year, if they do this organization is more fucked up than anyone can imagine.
  10. I did not know that, how did they dump him and over what. I know he ripped the 2024 White Sox which everybody and his uncle has. I still say he would make a good manager somewhere.
  11. I’ve always felt that former Catchers make the best managers, I’d go with A J Pierzynski.
  12. There’s nothing that can save his ass except JR keeping him since he has to pay him. If somehow JR spends big time this offseason on free agents and the Sox have a chance of winning next year then Griawfol will be gone.
  13. Sorry I misunderstood, thanks for the info.
  14. What kind of play was he not hustling on? Nothing is going to change with him, he’s going to show spurts of brilliance but will return to what we see most of the time, another Claudell Washington.
  15. Top of the 5th brought back a lot of memories of watching the Sox and Cubs in black and white on WGN back in the 50s, Fox did an amazing job with their replication of those days.
  16. I’m going to surprise you with my second pick, I’d go with Robert Clemente.
  17. I’ve always said that if I had to pick one player in the history of the game to start an MLB team it would have to be Willie, he was truly a 5 tool player.
  18. The Say Hey Kid is gone, one of the greatest and most exciting baseball players ever. I was lucky enough to see him play a few times at Wrigley in the late 1950s, may he rest in peace.
  19. That’s a fact.
  20. Another thing, the White Sox all time record right now is 9572-9545, IIRC after the GO GO years the White Sox all time record was around 250 games over .500 now down to 27 games over. At the end of 2024 the Sox all time record for the first time since I became a Sox fan will be under .500. Of the original 16 teams the only teams under .500 are the Twins (old Senators), Athletics, Orioles ( Browns) and the Phillies. Sox W-L record by decade, does not include the 2024 season.
  21. He’s a traitor, Rory choked with bogeys on 3 of the last 4 holes.
  22. Because we have a jerk for an owner.
  23. DeJong has a good chance of breaking the record for most homers by a Sox shortstop held by Jose Valentin who had 30 in 2004.
