Not sure but one funny thing I remember is when Leo Durocher was hired by the Cubs in 1965 after the Cubs finished in 8th place that year, at his press conference when hired Leo stated that the Cubs were not at 8th place ball club, he was right on the money as the Cubs in 1966 finished in 10th and dead last in the NL with a record of 59-103.

It’s a start but keeping Grifol is a huge mistake.
-
Definitely something wrong and it makes you wonder if the hitting coach picked up on it.

I attended game 2 of the 1959 World Series with my favorite uncle who managed to get the tickets and my mother, to this day I can't figure out what possessed Cucinello to wave Lollar home especially as there were no outs, that was a huge game and I've always felt if the Sox had won that game they would have gone and won the Series.

I'm OK with Elvis but as only a backup, he finished pretty strong with a nice second half and one of the few players who busted his butt and showed like he cared.
-
I'm OK with TA playing second base.........in Oakland or Kansas City.

At the time I thought they would finish at 66-96 but they surprised us and finished even worse at 61-101, friggin 40 games under .500. Blow it up, I never want to see some of these clowns in a White Sox uniform again.

Pathetic.

The 70s were pretty bad, Sox and Cubs except for a couple of nice seasons were bad with no playoff appearances, the Hawks had a couple of trips to the finals in 71 and 73 but were really bad later in the decade and after many years of sellouts were drawing 10,000 a game, same with the Bulls. The Bears were horrible for most of the decade but made the playoffs IIRC in 77. Bottom line the 70s were the worst decade I can remember for Chicago sports teams with the Blackhawks in 71 the only season when any team came close to winning it all.

Too funny by Ozzie but close to the truth.
-
Or they keep him and pay him another 25 million in 2025.
-
I think he’s on the books for 24 million next year, that’s a lot of gelt for a guy that spends quite a bit of time on the IL.

I can believe that, Grifol is a jerk.
-
Agree but it will be hard to move Yoan with his contract.
-
This, his actions hopefully will speak louder than words. The question is where do you start with this mess, my first move would be saying goodbye to TA.

Sunday day of rest lineup.

Last season was a warning sign there were problems and actually it goes back to after the All Star break in 2021 as they only played .500 ball in the second half and then failed horribly in the playoffs against the Astros, hiring TLR was a huge mistake and then they went from bad to worse with hiring Grifol. Yes the Burger trade was rediculous but I'm really happy for Jake as the Marlins made the playoffs and at the same time beat out the Flubs for a Wild Card spot.

Don't bet on it, just think Chris Getz.
-
He's certainly not doing anything to increase the value of the franchise. So if his family takes over when he dies then they will probably sell to owners from a another city, if he lives another 7 or 8 years Chicago will probably be 75-25 Cubs fans. After 42 years of his ownership and living in Florida for 30 years and what we saw with the team this year, I'm so very very close to not giving a damn if they move. I didn't think I'd ever say that but that's what his ownership has done to me.
-
Why, it's something I believe could happen based on my trust in the worst owner in baseball. Look what he's done, when he took over the area was about 50-50 with Cubs and Sox fans, now it's probably at 67-33 in favor of the Cubs. When was the last time we outdrew the Cubs, we couldn't outdraw them when we won it all in 2005 or in 2006 when you have the residual effect of a World Series Championship. Just about every move this man has made in his 42 years as owner has alienated the fan base from the departure of Harry Caray to the Sportsvision fiasco to building a horrible monstrosity of a ball park to the White Flag trade and on and on including the franchise coming very close to moving to Florida. The minor league system is in complete shambles with pathetic scouting and coaching. We are the only franchise that doesn't use analytics with horrible coaches down through the years, IIHO the last really good hitting coach we had was Charlie Lau. Cooper was OK as a pitching coach but was no Ray Berres or Johnny Sain. When he finally sees that changes need to be made he gives us Chris Getz as the new GM who thinks its a good idea to keep the worst Sox manager in my lifetime in Grifol. I hate to think what the season ticket fan base will be the next few years. Yes, I'm sorry but I can see this rat selling to people in another city, Chicago is on the decline while other cities in the Sun Belt are growing leaps and bounds, in another decade many cities will pass Chicago in population, as we speak Dallas and Houston are not that far behind Chicago.

Europe wins the 2023 Ryder Cup 16.5-11.5, this tournament was lost by the Americans on Friday and Saturday morning when the Euros built a huge lead that was just too much to make up. With an hour to go the Americans still had a small chance, they needed to win the last 5 matches and were leading 3 of them but just couldn't pull it off.

Hiring him was a huge mistake, keeping him will be a bigger mistake. Is JR tanking the whole franchise in order to sell to buyers from another city?
-
61-101 has a nice ring to it.
-
Not only overvalued but overpaid.
