The Mighty Mite

The thing is if 52,000+ were at the 1964 game and fans were standing on the field, how did Comiskey squeeze 55,555 in for the 1973 DH, I’ve always questioned that 55,555 number.

I attended the 1964 Sox-Cubs game with my girlfriend, overflow crowd and we wound up sitting in an aisle in the upper deck down the right field line. There was nowhere to move as the place was literally packed to the rafters.

I’ve been a big Meidroth fan but after yesterday’s performance I’m wondering if Antonacci should take over 2B. Chase looked like he had no clue at the plate, we should have won that game in the bottom of the 10th if he came through with a hit but there were other bad moments too with Colson’s error and Rock walking in a run.

Tough loss but they never quit. At least we came back from the miserable series in Motown and won the series. Get some rest and win 2 or 3 from KC.

A homer wins it.

First out so important, now they need a hit to take the lead.

Hold em in the 10th then win it.

I thought that was gone when Vargas hit it.

Any old kind of hit wins it.

Any old kind of hit wins it.

Here we go, Gonzo steels 2nd and Ant singles him home.

Holy crap!

We’ve had our chances.

He was in scoring position to begin with.

Let’s take advantage.

Where’s Plesac when we need him?

All of a sudden he thinks he’s power hitter, needs to look at some tapes and I agree he’s too far away from the plate, he needs a broom to hit the outside pitch.

Tough luck there, at least we got one back.

All right! We got something going.

Yep.

Tough hop for Teel otherwise he’s out.

We’ve got trouble.

Colson trying to throw the ball before it was in his glove.

That game was old time White Sox baseball, Burke and Newcomb stepped up, good teams win games like that and we did. Sweep them today and hope the bats come to life.

He’s making it look easy.
