Jesus, I dont know if I've even bought 20 NEW albums in 2008 haha I'll get back to you. Side Note: I dig THE HELL out of Day & Age. It took multiple spins to kinda "get" what they were going for, but now I realize how fun this album is supposed to be. The more I listen the more I realize they have made 3 totally different albums that are enjoyable on different fronts....
  2. 4 - Marquez 5 - Poreda It's quite obvious Richard is more suited for the pen as a long man because he falls apart in the 4th or 5th inning every start. If either guy falters, Jose will take their spot mid-season.
  3. Winston Salem Pack o' Smokes?
  4. QUOTE (scenario @ Nov 25, 2008 -> 09:43 AM) Another reason that Uribe swings at everything... Because players in the DR have it trained into their heads early by coaches that... "You can't walk off the island." Tell that to Albert Pujols....
  5. Damn that last HR video that swing looked pretty f'n sweet
  6. BOOOOOO!!! What the hell abc? you seemed like the cool network that would give these super original shows a chance. Shows you've never seen on TV and you do this? Can't wait to see what they replace them with....

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 11:00 AM) I got it last night. This album is going to take a lot of getting used to, but I think it will grow on me. I loved Sam's Town right off the bat, but this one I think I'm going to have to come around on. I have only listened to it once through, so I'm sure things will change. It defenitly has the Bowie feel to it, which is what Flowers said he was going for. You mentioned "This is Your Life", which I think sounds a lot like Talking Heads. Oh, and Spacemen is a fantastic single. It's definitely OUT THERE haha It feels like an album where you're wondering around the Nevada desert high as s*** trying to find Las Vegas.... And at one point you get abducted by aliens...
  8. Kind of apropos that it's called 24: Redemption, seeing as that 6th season BA-LEEEEW so much haha I've heard nothing but good things about it though, so I might check it out...

Alright, Day & Age has leaked. Veeeeeery early review upon first listen is that they completely abandoned the more "Rock" styling of Sam's Town. This album sounds like Hot Fuss on a bad acid trip in the 1980's... haha. Don't know if that's a good or bad thing yet. I definitely need to listen to it more, and in a better environment. The album is very synth-heavy, with almost every song being driven by the keyboard. You can barely even tell there are guitars on here. Best songs: (So Far) "Spaceman" "Human" "This is Your Life" (My favorite right now) Now it took me like a year to actually realize how awesome Sam's Town truly was, so I'll definitely be patient with this CD.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 10:24 PM) You know, they sometimes get the label of having all their songs sounding the same, and while I can understand the argument, I like their sound, so why complain? Sam's Town got panned by some critics, but I have played the s*** out of that record. There might be 2 weak tracks on it. It took me forever to get into Sam's Town, but damn if it isnt an amazing album. Better than Hot Fuss in my opinion. Uncle Johnny is probably the weakest song on Sam's Town, but thats about it. Side note, I had never in my life heard The Hold Steady, and just went to their myspace. Ehhh, nothing special. The singers voice bores me, and the music is pretty straight forward.... (This is only upon first listen)

Gonna download this bad boy when I get home from work... Should be quality. For those who don't know, Dustin is the lead singer of Thrice, and he started doing a folk/folk rock solo thing and released an amazing album last year. And this is just a album of covers Christmas songs, and a couple original X-mas tunes. If you've ever heard his cover of "Happy X-mas" (War is Over) you should like this....

AWESOME. I had actually never seen Coheed live before, so seeing "In Keeping Secrets...", which is my favorite album by them, in it's entirety as my first time is pretty great. Such talented musicians and Claudio's voice sounds amazing live. I was pretty drunk, but it was still an enjoyable experience haha. They played "2113", "Gravemakers & Gunslingers", and "The Suffering" as an encore.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 07:18 AM) Honel and Malone were such huge dissapointments. I remember one game back in like '02 I wanna say where Malone struck out like 16. We were all pretty excited for Corwin....

Rise Against - Audience of One Finally a Rise Against song I really like. Mainly because it doesnt follow the same "Quiet Quiet YELL YELL!! Slow Slow Fast Fast" formula ALL their songs usually follow....
