QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 7, 2012 -> 04:37 PM) if ozzie was the coach still hed be starting and batting leadoff probably He's a Rookie and White. That's a huge No-No for Ozzie as far as starting goes.

Can't watch this team nowadays.... If they don't DESTROY Houston and run through the NL that might be it for the season.... -

Well this team has gone from super fun to watch to super frustrating... -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2012 -> 02:39 PM) Minus Matt Kemp? Exactly. I know plenty of Dodgers fans here, already predicting they start falling apart soon...

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 7, 2012 -> 12:58 PM) Tigers beat the Indians. So the Sox will enter interleague play in first place. Next 15: Sox --vs Hou, at Stl, at LA, vs Cubs, vs Mil Cle --at Stl, at Cin, vs Pit, vs Cin, at Hou Det --at Cin, at cubs, vs Col, vs Stl, at Pit None of the teams really running through a gauntlet of the NL's best right there... Cincinnati is probably the best out of those teams and thankfully the Sox don't play them

I honestly wonder if Kenny would try and get Colon....again haha He's nothing if not an innings eater, that could dominate at times when he's on.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2012 -> 11:57 AM) It's at least possible we could get 1 starter here in a week or so...if the time off helps him find a groove that would really bolster that rotation too. And then a good run from Floyd or Humber, that'd be like adding 2 starters right away;. Oh Floyd is every bit capable of going on a tear, you just gotta hope it happens at the right time. So far it hasn't hurt the team too much that he's been awful lately, the offense has been covering up his bad starts and the team is in 1st. Hopefully he can make a nice run in the summer and help them stay on top or near the top. Humber doesn't have that inconsistent background that we all know Floyd has, but has show flashes of brilliance this season (not even counting the perfect game) so hopefully it's something that Coop can help him with. Get that release point down and give the team some solid innings this summer...

This is gonna be one hell of a summer in the division. Everyone has flaws, and no one is gonna run away with it. Should be interesting/aggravating
-
Will he be there tonight? Not that he'd be starting or anything, just curious...

My answer: Starting Pitching. Yes, there is every chance in the world that the offense could struggle like it was in April at any point again in the season, but I trust the hitters more than the starters to last a full season without breaking down. Danks/Floyd are the only guys who can give you 200 IP (with Peavy on the fringes just because of past injuries, but knock on wood seems like he'll be a horse) Unfortunately neither are pitching well right now. Sale has been fantastic but will wear down come September and if the Sox are in it, that spells bad news.
-
Floyd is consistently inconsistent. That's what he does. He's bound to go on another run where his curve is biting and he carries the rotation for 6-7 starts. Humber on the other hand doesn't really have a track record established. Last year he had an awesome first half followed by some bad starts more than likely do to fatigue from IP. Perhaps it's another dead arm period right now for him. Having both of them step it up in the Summer will do wonders. As well as a John Danks popping 94 and spotting that change. That or Kenny's gonna have to look for some help in the trade market. I don't even know if he has the pieces to get a guy like Dempster (him and his stand up routine aside)

Just one of those games. You could see a CG coming from a mile away gotta steal one tomorrow... I just don't want this to slip the team into a huge funk now that they're in 1st. They can't got back to being another .500 finish.... Just gotta accept that Toronto just has this teams number and focus on everyone else, including beating up on the NL and wining in Division. -

My biggest fear this season, is the Sox remaining in the hunt all season only to have Sale, Peavy and Quintana get gassed by September and the Sox miss out... I think a starter at the deadline should be more of a priority than upgrading at 3rd if Morel still can't cut it.... -

Maybe it's just playing the Blue Jays, but the offense just looks listless compared to how they were looking during The Streak...
