Losing 2/3 puts them at 10 GB with 6 games against Cubs (2) and Guardians (4) leading up to deadline.

It's the only way to gain much ground on them. 2 out of 3 you only gain one game.

He also doesn’t have to opt-out. They could have an agreement that he will start Monday for them if he stays a couple more days. I also wouldn’t be that worried about losing Dallas Keuchel if he did opt-out haha
