Heyman: Sox interested in someone on some team. Nightengale: *nods*
Collins for Escobar straight up?

Abreu left knee injury from HBP
Yeah it’s a part of the schedule too where we play bad teams so might as well. Rather have him be healthier later in season.
-
Sheets Returning (Per WSD)
I don’t think Abreu goes on IL since we currently only have 3 bench spots. I bet a reliever goes.

Wish we were a little closer to the All-Star break. A 10-day IL stint with 4 days off would be nice.

Because a trade hasn't been completed on June 25th? No.

Internal Hitting Options (Split from Escobar thread)
I've been full aboard the "sending down Vaughn IF/when everyone else is healthy" train myself.

Internal Hitting Options (Split from Escobar thread)
I feel like it's moot point knowing that all of those guys can be in the lineup against righties (Leury 2B, Vaughn LF, Goodwin CF, Lamb RF). Edit: I also just noticed we are only playing with a 3-man bench right now.

Yeah, it's gotten so bad to the point where we are yearnin for Hamilton haha

Right. And the alternative is playing guys like Billy Hamilton (when he is back) and Brian Goodwin who have had lackluster careers to this point anyway.

Personally, I'm good with him just DHing at this point.
-
6/24 Games
I'm fine with a guy like him hitting 7/8th against righties and then having him hit higher against lefties. It's not like he's been a black hole against righties down there.

Go the Vaughn route and have him play 2nd for the first 6 innings and then bring in someone else. Or just DH him.

Giving him at bats to see if he can improve possibly helps their chances to win a World Series.

That works for me too.

A New Yoelqui Question
I wouldn't be too concerned about that yet.

Time to shuffle the deck a bit. Bring up Beckham, Sheets, and Burger. Send down Mercedes, cut Gonzalez, option Mendick?

I think it would be better to just extend the trade deadline to either mid or end of August. You couldn't just freely trade in the waiver period anyway.

Internal Bullpen Moves
It's possible Zavala goes unclaimed. But Xavier Fernandez, Carlos Perez, take your pick as emergency back up catcher. But I would probably rather lose Gonzalez from the 40-man first.
-
The Offense - Near Term Actions
Agreed. Especially if he's not even going to play CF over Goodwin and Leury when he is in the lineup.
-
Internal Bullpen Moves
They have other catchers in the minors they could call up if Grandal or Collins were injured, even Zavala if he clears. Of course, they would then have to make a 40-man move. I think I'd be ok gambling on cutting Zavala from the 40.

Honestly let's mix it up and get Sheets some OF/DH at bats. Maybe Burger too.

Wasn't watching at the time but did he make the last out of the inning?

Maybe if we beg hard enough. Pleeeeeease.

I know we need more power but I don't think it would be wrong to acquire him. Grab him (and maybe a rental reliever from Pitt if they have one?) and Marte from Marlins.

Random thought, but Jace Fry can be taken off the IL soon right?
