  1. I like that. Maybe an option on there too?
  2. Have the foodies said anything today about Kluber?
  3. His best shot may be with an organization at this point. Trade him to like Pittsburgh or somewhere where he can catch most of the time. Maybe get some 1B at bats without Bell there.
  4. Just barely under the luxury tax, but damn that would be sick.
  5. That last paragraph really hits home for me.
  6. And an open spot on the 40-man. As Dick said, could just be a minor trade for non- 40 man player.
  7. That's what I was thinking. What's the 40-man at now? Edit: just checked. It's at 39 so they don't need to make room for Hendriks.
  8. Let him go to the minors to work on some tweaks before getting called back up for a spot start/September call up.
  9. If he's pitching well enough, he's not in danger of losing his spot. If Cease is pitching well, Kopech will just have to pitch in the minors until there is an injury.
  10. Who knows if that is accurate or not. I just figured Madrigal would change his number to 12 or something.
  11. Giolito, Keuchel, Lynn, Kluber, Cease. Let's make it happen.
  12. There is a looot still out there. Even the top free agents from this class are all mostly out there.
  13. Benintendi and Eaton both seem to have some health concerns. Eloy would still likely see a lot of time in the OF. You can play him in LF and let Eaton DH once or twice a week (especially against lefties when you may sit Benintendi in favor of Engel in RF), or let Benintendi DH once or twice a week as well. Not really in favor of dealing for Benintendi though. If they were to add a corner OF, I would rather just sign Pederson, Bradley (play him in a corner and have Eloy mostly DH), etc. They would increase their payroll dealing Lopez for Benintendi anyway.
  14. Eh. Personally, when I think "Future Sox," I think prospects. Not some quad-A reliever. It's probably fine here.
  15. Assuming Crochet opens the year in the minors, who is in the pen as of now? For 8 spots, you have Hendriks, Bummer (L), Marshall, Heuer, Foster, Fry (L) as the likely locks, probably a long-reliever/spot starter (not sure who would serve this role as of now as I also think Lopez opens the year in the minor as a middle-reliever), and then one more spot that as of now I guess could go to Ruiz or Cordero. I assume they will upgrade that spot or add a long-reliever. Edit: just saw the new tweet, Not really news here as every team signs guys to minor league deals for bullpen depth.
  16. Right. He can take the best deal from anyone: a contender or a team looking to flip him in June/July.
