I'm definitely a fan of the signing 2 OF approach: one that would platoon in one spot with Engel and one that would primarily DH but could spell Eloy in LF.
I've been going back and forth on Dahl all morning. The lineup should be so good where they could gamble on him in the 8-spot. But yeah, I think I prefer someone who can stay on the field.
If we don't get Springer (probably more "when we don't), my personal preference is:
1. Joc
2. JBJ
3. Dahl (didn't realize he was only 27. Still, if he misses a lot of the season, that doesn't do us much good)
4. Rosario
They are comparing his offensive numbers to Dunn. Which is a spot on comparison. Anyone who has suggested Gallo has said he is Dunn but with good defense.
If they acquire someone in a trade to plug RF, I doubt it would be anyone that would cost big time prospects. If they miss out on Springer, I'm personally ok with them going with Pederson, Bradley, the Korean OF, gambling on Dahl for RF and trading for a SP.
He's thrown like 1/3 of an inning more than Davidson haha I think you're right that people say that because he has a good arm, but then you can say that about others around the game too, especially catchers.
Yeah I hear ya. In this scenario, assuming no one is traded and they sign Springer and Colas, they would sort of have a logjam so it would give him 2 years in the minors until Abreu leaves.
