  1. Saladino in for Lawrie #hugwatch
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 05:14 PM) Not the worst idea I've heard, but I'm sure he would hate it. If they do a complete tear down, he's someone that should be available also. Not yet. Wait a couple years until he's more developed and has multiple years of control. And he's a Boras client so basically no chance at team friendly extension.
  3. They're waiting on pitching til off-season since free agency is weak.
  4. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 03:57 PM) A Dodgers friend of mine suggested Eaton for Pederson straight up. What do you guys think? I'd say no. I'd say no as well.
  5. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 01:47 PM) The Cubs have earned it. We can, too but we have to start from the bottom, which is hard. I'm willing to wait out a rebuild. I've lost so much interest in the season the past week.
  6. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 01:10 PM) At this rate Jerry will be dead by the time the Sox actually compete anyway. He's pretty old so it's possible.
  7. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 01:01 PM) Man the White Sox are leaking all sorts of s*** today Yeah kind of weird.
  8. QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 12:58 PM) I am at the point to that I dont care who they trade as long as they have a clear and concise plan. They have been on the fence for how long now? Have a plan that builds long term health of the organization and stick with it. This is how I feel.
  9. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 01:02 PM) Another source says the #WhiteSox were offered a "king's ransom" for Sale in the last 48 hours and responded with a flat "no." Man I want to know what that is.
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 12:54 PM) I would hold Rodon as well, but not because I am opposed to trading him, just because he isn't yet worth what he should be. Bingo. Wait til he develops into a front of the rotation arm. And he's a Boras client so trading him in a couple years when he still has 2-3 years of control would probably be max value.
  11. QUOTE (FT35 @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 12:51 PM) OK...let's be realistic...you can't just trade everyone. Everyone who is saying Rodon, Anderson and Fulmer are no's...everyone else is gone. You know how long it would take to work out a trade for everyone!?!? You can't just keep 3 young, unproven players and get rid of everyone else. No one does that and we aren't THAT bad. Some of these are obvious but often overlooked by posters here! Here are some things to consider in a rebuild: 1. You have to keep a vet. For the stability of an organization, you need some sort of constant--a Frank Thomas/Paul Konerko-type player that exemplifies an organization, deals with the new players and serves as an ambassador for the team if you will. What vet defines White Sox baseball and its future? Possibilities include Frazier, Sale, Q, Abreu, Eaton. Personally, my vote would be Sale because of his value/contract. 2. You can't think you're rebuilding without changing managers. A true re-build needs a new philosophy FIRST--then the search begins for baseball players who fit that philosophy. 3. Don't just replace someone to replace them. Figure out what players you currently have that fit that new philosophy and lock them up. Nothing is worse than trading Adam Eaton in a fire sale, then bringing in a new manager who says "we need an Adam Eaton-type player." Yeah I'd probably keep Eaton, Abreu, Sale and Quintana around for now as well unless we get blown away with an offer. They could be moved at a later point if need be since they are signed for a while.
  12. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 12:05 PM) Heyman reporting Fulmer, Frazier, Robertson top Sox trading chips. I can't see a reason to move Fulmer over Sale, Q if we're selling. Probably means Fulmer if we're buying, other 2 if selling.
  13. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 11:27 AM) http://www.todaysknuckleball.com/al/chicag...dering-selling/ Says sox getting calls on Robertson, eaton and others I'd definitely listen on Robertson. Look at what Giles and Kimbrel brought back in the off-season.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 01:49 PM) I'd add Jennings too. MiGo is the guy you trade for a younger starter down on his luck that you think you can turn around to strike gold for. *has flashbacks of Feldman for Arrieta*
  15. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jul 19, 2016 -> 07:43 PM) I'm worried we're going to run off 5 wins in a row and have Hahn and KW rethink the need to sell! Rethink? You think they're thinking about selling? That is one thought not even close to in their brains.
  16. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 08:08 PM) Came in to post about him. Sneaky solid player, might have some decent support coming up between him and Engel. Anyone have reports on his defense? All I know is he plays everywhere.
  17. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 09:45 PM) Not sure if I missed it or not, but are Avi and Morneau platooning at DH, or is it more of a matchup thing? Platoon. Well matchup thing and platooning would he about the same thing.
  18. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 09:34 PM) It's funny, LaRoche a guy who had known to be declining against lefties got plenty of AB's .Now Morneau who had hit lefties decently the last few years sits against them. The common denominator? Robin.
  19. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 12:43 PM) Where are the established Major Leaguers in that proposed deal? How do you trade Sale for a bunch of prospects? Too many top prospects fail to pan out. McCullers would plug into rotation but I get your point. I just don't see any team giving up young controllable position players (Seager, Bogaerts, etc) who are important pieces to these contenders.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) Was this a prediction because there is nothing else to talk about on a Monday morning? Or a prediction based on solid information they have from sources? Probably nothing else to talk about.
  21. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) Bregman, Reed, and McCullers at the VERY least. Yep this is a start.
  22. QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 10:19 AM) Why not BLOW IT UP???!!! We've never tried it, can't be worse than the last few years of this crap. Because Jerry.
  23. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 10:04 AM) Matt Davidson Or Lawrie at third and Saladino at second (for the rest of this season anyway).
