  1. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 10:26 PM) Call me in four more weeks. Agree. The internal options aren't good, no one better is really available yet. Unless we overpay, we're not getting a big bat until June/July.
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 10:14 AM) Yep. Should be fun regardless, but I already try to avoid April/May night games as much as possible for the sox, hurts to use one on the cubs. I try as well. Easier now that I have a regular 8-4:30 job. Makes me not really want to go out and get home too late for games (live in South suburbs so it's not too bad of a trip but still).
  3. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 10:06 AM) Good f***ing Riddance. This.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 09:40 AM) Could be worse guys. i have a friend in town and everyone organized to go to a baseball game since he loves baseball. Sox aren't home tonight. Ouch. Well on the bright side you can get drunk and enjoy time with your friends I suppose.
  5. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 07:18 AM) Same with the Hawks game. I'm sure alot of people in the Chicago land area are going to be flipping back and forth. (Sox/Cubs fans, the real diehard Bulls fans.. , Kobe fans, people who do/don't wanna see Golden State break the Bulls 72-10 record, etc. Busy sports day tonight) Going to a bar is ideal for days like today haha I'm sure I'll be at the bar a lot over the next couple weeks/months with friends watching the Hawks and our preference of baseball team sox and cubs. Works perfect with lots of tvs.
  6. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 07:06 AM) Baseball > Hockey Ehhh in your opinion maybe. But to anyone who enjoys both: Playoff game > regular season game when there's abut 150 or so left. Seriously. It's a long season.
  7. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 10:03 PM) I'll find the exact tweet, but he said something like "He's the closest athlete physically to Mike Trout that I've ever seen". That's not comparing hitting tools. More of speed and defense most likely based on his size. Trout's a pretty thick dude who can cover some ground.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 03:21 PM) Saladino and Thompson are two leading candidates. Yikes.
  9. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 09:52 AM) He signed a minor league deal with the Padres. Figure he'll get called up soon for them. Exactly. He can opt out for a mlb deal but Padres get first crack at adding him.
  10. Call Loney's agent and let him know he can have a major league role here?
  11. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 08:02 AM) Another pitcher would be far more useful. Aumont or someone. Agreed.
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 05:35 PM) I have the same amount of faith I've had in Danks for 3 seasons now. He's going to eat some innings, have some good games and get shelled in a couple which makes him just fine at the bottom of the rotation. He's fine for a fifth starter. He's not fine for someone who makes that much money however (though you could point out worse contracts for guys with similar/worse results as him).
  13. Imagine if the Sox had stood pat and not signed Jackson like some on here wanted. After LaRoche retirement, our outfield would be the same as last year and a Sands/Ishikawa platoon would be the DH. (Shivers)
  14. I believe Archer is pitching Friday as well so makes sense.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 12:59 PM) My sister (who is extremely talented IMO) is drawing him a picture that he requested and he agreed to meet us at the ballpark so we can give it to him in person. I am pumped. That's pretty cool I guess. Hopefully you'll meet someone else that happens to be around as well.
  16. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 12:54 PM) I am going to meet him at the Cell whenever he gets called up, so I need him to do well. Lol odd request.
  17. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 07:50 AM) Because we've seen Carrol for three years and he is an AAAA pitcher Who was destroyed in his first AAA outing. Turner is some Cooper project who has limited stuff. I hope Eaton is taking like a 2 day leave. He'll be back today. Why would you want him gone longer?
  18. With a day off now today and Tuesday, I vote skipping Danks his next start.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 11:10 AM) I think you meant the centerpiece of the Shark deal... That part will come to the organization in June.
  20. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 11:20 AM) He can even play 1st! Making Sands even more pointless on this squad.
  21. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 10:29 AM) I don't think Saladino plays 2B. And where would Sands go? Who would play SS? Saladino can play second. And I guess Rollins would stay at short. Saladino is already in the lineup for Rollins however.
  22. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 09:09 AM) Looked at weather last night and doubt this gets played. Hoping it doesn't so we don't have too many games without Eaton. Missing him yesterday and maybe tomorrow is enough.
  23. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 10:37 AM) Agree, although if Eaton needs a break Avi pretty much has do be in the lineup. I do like Jackson batting leadoff in Eaton's absence. He's had some good at-bats so far. They could always DH him. Isn't that the point of having this rotating DH spot? They also have an off day coming.
  24. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 10:20 AM) Eaton not starting Damn. Wish Garcia was out instead.
  25. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 08:52 AM) It's not a game thread for today if it was created yesterday. It's dated 4/9 with today's match up and television info.
