  1. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 06:31 PM) Is there any proof that career numbers versus a specific team actually mean anything? Always see them quoted, just seems like it'll mostly be random variance to me, unless they have a consistent offence that has a particular skillset you exploit well I don't think it does. There's so much roster turnover from year to year to the point where it probably doesn't mean anything.
  2. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 06:14 PM) Is the TV broadcast somewhat lagging for anyone else? Yeah it's pretty annoying.
  3. QUOTE (glangon @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 05:06 AM) Jason Coats is hitting .364 with a .977 OPS, 2 homers, 9 RBI's and 8 extra base hits in 17 games for Charlotte. Surely he should be the one called up when Avi is inevitably sent down to Charlotte to lick his wounds. Agreed. And I don't know anything about his defense, but I'm sure he is an upgrade over Melky improving the team even more.
  4. Right handed power heavy line-up. Makes sense to get a righty in there against Toronto.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 06:27 PM) How do they have the potential to make the playoffs? Eaton iOS a punk who needs to be traded. Rollins is washed up. The league has caught up to Abreu. Frazier is the next coming of Dunn and LaRoche. Milky with no steroids is awful. Lawrie isn't any good. Avi might be the worst baseball player whoever lived. Avila is finished. Jackson is one of the worst players in baseball . They are managed by a no nothing who makes out insane line ups. I got all of that from this site this year and somehow they are 12-6. Even some of the pitchers including Sale get slammed. Sales a hot head who needs to go. A few weeks ago Latos would be released after 5 starts. Nate Jomes is great. Nate Jones sucks. Duke, Petricka, Putnam all awful. All these problems, yet they are a possible playoff team? I get what you're doing and agree with a lot of your opinions but seriously stop. The whole sarcastic attack others opinions shtick has gotten annoying.

  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 22, 2016 -> 10:00 PM) We need Abreu to hit and a league average offense from shortstop and catcher at bare minimum. Yes ideally a few guys start hitting and we're gold.
  8. Pitching and defense. All you need. Go out and get someone who can play a good LF (and can hit a bit) and move Melky to DH
  9. QUOTE (lsufan52224 @ Apr 22, 2016 -> 08:36 PM) Another well hit ball by Navarro Was just telling my bro he gets into a lot of bad luck this year but then he got lucky there.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 22, 2016 -> 11:23 AM) I was there too. We were waiting outside the gates for just about 2 hours, so I'm sure there were thousands of people that didn't want to stand out there for that long, so they just left. Even when they let us in, they "upgraded" us to seats in the shade when it was like 30 degrees out in the sun lol, so naturally we were freezing. We ended up sitting in the sunny part in the outfield, but the whole experience was a clown show. I still had a good time though Assuming they just left, if they had tickets beforehand, it should count towards attendance I would think. Also possible they didn't just leave but went to the bar and grill or back to car for a beer a few until lines were moving.
  11. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 22, 2016 -> 07:13 AM) While the Sox don't have good attendance, there are a few reasons why they've drawn so few people so far. 1. Danks has pitched twice at home, and people won't spend their hard earned money to watch him. 2. A game was rained out. 3. The game before that was terrible weather, and the upper deck was closed and many people left as a result. 4. Day games during the week never draw many people. As others may have mentioned, one of Danks' starts was a sellout.
  12. QUOTE (Special K @ Apr 22, 2016 -> 08:18 AM) Would love to see it happen. Why Abreu batting No. 2 though? Yeah I'd put Hernandez 2 or try Lawrie. Vs righties: 1. Eaton RF 2. Hernandez LF 3. Abreu 1B 4. Frazier 3B 5. Cabrera DH 6. Lawrie 2B 7. Jackson CF 8. Rollins SS 9. Catchers (whoever the f they feel like playing. Also depends on our starter and day game after night game).
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2016 -> 02:46 AM) 11,525 vs. 11,418 yesterday. Right now, we're currently in 28th place in attendance, ahead of only TB and Cleveland. At this point last year, after six games...we had drawn 125,423 for an average of 20,904. After Thursday's games, we passed the 100,000 mark, at 109,213 for an average of 18,202. The net difference is -2,702 tickets sold per game, a decline of roughly 13%. That's probably a pretty fair estimate of the decrease in season tickets sold from 2015, a loss of somewhere between 2,500-3,000 season tickets. The only difference was that first Sunday game against CLE was wiped out, but the weekday opponent (Angels/Trout & Pujols) was or should have been a better draw than the Cleveland Indians. On the plus side, last year we were 7-9 (and headed to 8-14) vs. 10-6 this year, a three game improvement (and a pace for 101 wins). If you consider the "Fan Cost Index" number of $26.05 for the 2015 White Sox, over a full season, that projects to a loss of ONLY $5.7 million in revenue, or less than 1/2 of Adam LaRoche's 2016 contract. It looks even sadder if you take away a sold out Opening Day.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 06:19 PM) Bringing in no insurance in case Avi flopped was simply inexcusable. To be fair, they planned on going into the year with a lot less playing tkme. That planned unraveled once LaRoche retired.
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 07:42 PM) Finally some good f***ing news. Left-handed OF with strong on-base skills, this guy makes a ton of sense if the price isn't crazy. And he wouldn't count against our bonus pool, so it doesn't impact our ability to improve the system. Agree. I wonder how much it would take and how long he'd need in the minors.
  16. Per Ben Badler. I know some posters on here have talked about him. Figured I'd post an update.
  17. QUOTE (South Sider @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 01:14 PM) I have a flight later and all of todays commitments are completed... I'm debating just cracking open a beer now. Do it sir.
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 08:15 AM) No one is panicking. Just a matter of finding the best parts for all the slots. Ishikawa would be better, for this team with it's current needs, than Sands. Also would hate to take Frazier off 3B any more than for emergency purposes. Why? Saladino played great defensively at third last year.
  19. CarGo is killing it right now. Idk if I want trade one of (or both) Anderson or Fulmer for him (maybe Anderson if Saladino was playing and hitting everyday). Edit: actually I'd probably be open to dealing Fulmer if the Sox go pitching heavy with first 3 picks. Just not enough room in rotation for everyone.
  20. I kind of expect Pujols and Trout to both go yard today. Think we still pull off a W though.
