QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 6, 2016 -> 07:30 AM) I honestly wouldn't mind giving Tommy Milone a chance. He couldn't be any worse than Danks or EJ. Why not? The other options aren't good anyway.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 6, 2016 -> 06:31 AM) Honestly, who cares about this right now? I'm not worried about next years rotation and Latos' impending free agency. So much could and probably will happen between now and then that will change things. Address 5th starter as soon as possible, worry about offseason and next season after this season is over And it's not even something that needs to be worried about in the offseason. With Sale, Quintana and Rodon in the front 3 spots, we could just add a veteran innings eater or bounceback type of guy. 5 he front of our rotation is strong enough to the point where we don't need to overpay in dollars or prospects on an ace like most teams.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 5, 2016 -> 11:50 PM) So who comes up? Are we about to get a starter from another team? Everyone that comes up is going to be nervous that they have to be perfect in order to stick, not a great thing to have. This is not really a serious question but; Should we just bring up Fulmer and let him face his bumps at the MLB level and learn? I'm guessing another reliever for next few days until the 5th starter spot comes up again.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:33 PM) Actually this is very true. His leg is in the path before he gets teh ball. Doesn't look like much of a block. Could easily get through that as he did. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2016 -> 06:51 PM) I LOVE ROBIN VENTURA! Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan 1h1 hour ago Robin Ventura not as excited about four first-place teams playing in Chicago tonight as some are: "I don’t care about the other game." He shouldn't care about any game that doesn't feature an AL Central/potential wild card competition teams really.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 4, 2016 -> 08:45 PM) Another solid outing for Danish so far QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 4, 2016 -> 09:43 PM) 5 straight starts with 2 ER or less for Danish. Impressive QUOTE (southside hitman @ May 5, 2016 -> 10:19 AM) http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2016/...-keeps-rolling/ recap posted. Danish continuing to show consistent results. Trade chip?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:25 AM) Chris Coughlan is probably available. He was pretty popular earlier this year. Adam Lind might be able to be had. Both have really sucked, but you have to figure A. lowers their price and B. regression to the mean would suggest they are due to get hot. I like the Coghlan idea. A guy you can DH but also plug in around the field.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2016 -> 09:01 PM) Hopefully Hahn is actively going after a big lefty bat like Levine suggested Has he suggested "big" lefty bat or just lefty bat? The latter seems more likely (especially since it's early). -
While Jackson may be negative right now, Eaton does say in interviews that Jackson takes control of the outfield defense in center and tells him where to play for certain guys.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 4, 2016 -> 03:16 PM) Metrics are saying he's had poor range and a below-average arm. How does his stats this year compare to Eaton's defense last year? -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 4, 2016 -> 10:01 AM) I'm sure it's purely a coincidence that the Sox' first ESPN game of the season is against Boston. Incorrect. They played on ESPN in Oakland also on Wednesday Night Baseball. -

QUOTE (Tony @ May 3, 2016 -> 08:25 PM) Looks like he's starting to get more comfortable the last week or so. Saw an interview with him a few days ago, he was in a great mood. Probably feels a lot more comfortable in the infield than outfield. -
I wonder who we could realistically look to take on without giving up much. I know he's hurt, but maybe Ethier? We pay most of his salary this year (possible with LaRoche money freed up) and Dodgers pay most next year? Edit: just checked the stats of their outfielders. Pederson and Thompson are only ones hitting so they may get use out of him at some point.
