The Andrew Vaughn LF Thread
If everyone was healthy maybe you send him down but at this point they just need healthy bodies. Plus….I’ve read a few different pieces that talk about the gap between AAA and MLB has never been bigger in terms of talent/play so you could make the argument AAA doesn’t help his development all that much

Heyman: Sox interested in someone on some team. Nightengale: *nods*
He’s on pace for 32 HR’s and 85 RBI’s on an unimpressive Nats team. He’s also improved his defense to be a very serviceable level. I mean, you’re just making stuff up at this point.

You have a while to make that decision, and there is a good chance it gets answered for you. But if you had to decide right now, assuming Hamilton was healthy, Mercedes probably is odd man out because of a lack of position.

Have the Nats throw in Jordy Mercer in the deal, problem solved.

No I get it, and I don't really think you are wrong.....but obviously they can't acquire everything and no roster is going to be perfect. If they can acquire a bat like Schwarber, I think allows Leury to basically just go back to INF work, which sort of solves that issue. Lamb can also play 3B obviously, so basically Leury is your backup 2B/SS.

They can find that guy very easily, in the Timo Perez/Geoff Blum role that basically gets dealt for a PTBNL

I’m not convinced the Sox need a replacement at 2B right now, I really believe Mendick can do the job. The Sox are 37-6 when they hit a HR this season, and I do think that stat does have some significance. I think Schwarber could be had for less than Frazier and probably a similar package to Escobar. Him being a LH power bat also gives this lineup a little more balance, and would really be some nice insurance when guys get back.

6/16 Rays @ Sox, 1:10 CT
Not sure but I assume you'll find something wrong with it

6/16 Rays @ Sox, 1:10 CT
I just wish there wasn't a rule in baseball where you can't use your best pitcher late in games. Fucking MLB, man....

I mean that's absolute garbage.

I really don't think they need to upgrade there with Madgrial down. Find a bullpen arm and maybe another UTL bat

That's a sexy Mandick if I've ever seen one

This is where a competent manager is missed.

Defend this, LaRussa stans. DO IT

6/16 Rays @ Sox, 1:10 CT
I love when Jason and Steve rip on LaRussa then just stay silent for 15 seconds to let it breath.

6/16 Rays @ Sox, 1:10 CT
It's a tough call, let LaRussa think on it some more.

6/16 Rays @ Sox, 1:10 CT
Correct. Both can be true. Bummer and Marshall need to be better (Bummer wasn't that bad) but putting Marshall in that spot is on TLR, and it's not arm-chair QB'ing when everyone said it was the wrong call before he took the mound.

6/16 Rays @ Sox, 1:10 CT
It seems so obvious.....but yet so hard to execute for some in the dugout

Bummer wasn't that bad that inning.... Bringing Marshall in here and not Hendricks is...........odd.
