True lol.
If the Sox get Desmond, which outfielder would they go after in a trade? It sounds like the interest in Ethier was overstated and I don't know who else would be available on the trade market.
Desmond Jennings make a lot of sense. Just hope it's not Guerrero.
Dan Hayes "confirming" too: "Confirmed @JonHeyman report that #WhiteSox in talks w/ free agent SS Ian Desmond. Desmond avg 3.8 WAR from 12-15. http://bit.ly/1Qb4kJG"
Herman reporting that the Sox are "Seriously considered making a big run at Ian Desmond". Said he thinks he's a great fit & talks like it will be more than 1 year.

Ideally the Sox would sign Desmond and trade for Ethier. Dunno bout that latter part though, seems pretty unlikely.
That's a lot of money...
Signing Desmond & trading for Desmond Jennings or signing Jackson would make more sense, IMO.

Any chance this is put out there to try and pressure another team Hahn might be in trade talks with?
Highly doubt it. Merkin confirmed interest in both him & Fowler yesterday, plus raBBit has reported this a few times as well.
I'm not a big fan but there's no denying that he improves this team. I can't see him going for a 1 year deal, so it may make sense to do 2-3 years & move him to the OF when Anderson is ready.

100 percent agree.
Frankly, I'm just trying to figure out what the FO is doing...
They've got this far, why not make the extra step to fill another hole with a high OBP guy w/ speed & see where that gets them?
Frustrating.
Per Buster Onley: The Orioles have interest in Dexter Fowler in the range of Howie Kendrick's deal with the Dodgers -- 2 years, $20 million.
Sure seems like market is heating up a bit for Fowler. Been a few things mentioned on him in the past few days.
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 10, 2016 -> 07:46 AM)
They aren't waiting. Fowler isn't wiling to accept a deal like that yet. That's why he's not signed.
I guess that's my entire point.

And they are both better pitchers than Latos, IMO. I saw him pitch 2-3 times last year, and it was line drive city. Then he got DFA'd.
No metric lines up with this statement, though.

Who else would you expect them to add starting wise?
Either OF or Desmond at SS.
Still some good names out there in the FA market.
