  1. I've never heard about this, but wow, that would be my absolute dream scenario.
  2. You think Sale will come back to the Sox next offseason?
  3. I think it'd probably be closer to 80 million/year (~35 million for Machado and ~45 for Harper), which of course is a lot of money to commit to just 2 players. However, it's feasible if the Sox are willing to increase payroll significantly and also because the Sox will have several players making league minimum or close to it for the foreseeable future. The idea of adding 2 superstar hitters in their primes to the middle of the lineup is just so appealing to me. But it's probably not going to happen and I'd be more than happy with just Machado.
  4. This whole thing just reinforces why I don't like Barstool, but I was under the impression that they were trying to become a more credible outlet for MLB rumors. It seems like WSD does get good info from time to time, at least as far as the Sox go. I didn't think they would make up a blatantly false rumor just for some likes/retweets but I guess I was wrong.
  5. I'm still ticked off that RedLineRadio posted that fake Machado rumor just for attention
  6. I'm liking the Sox chances more and more by the day. I feel like if he was going to go to the Yankees, it would have happened already.
  7. That Barstoolcarl guy is having an epic meltdown on Twitter over this
  8. I'll say he signs with the Sox on Wednesday. Seems like the Sox usually make big transactions on Wednesday.
  9. WSD seems like a nice enough guy, but yeah, I'm not a fan of Barstool at all. They're all just a bunch of attention seekers. I'm part of their target demographic but I just don't get the appeal.
  10. Whatever credibility "Red Line Radio" had went out the window tonight.
  11. This is the typical "pics or it didn't happen" scenario.
  12. Normally I wouldn't want the Sox to bid against themselves, but this situation is different given that it's a player of Machado's caliber. I say they up their offer now and get this done.
  13. If I remember correctly, he was a highly regarded prospect at one point. Probably just going to be an arm for spring training but I'll be rooting for him to make the team.
  14. This Britton deal is good for the Sox. That's 40 million the Yankees can't spend on Machado. I hope they spend a lot on Ottavino too.
  15. Herrera to the Sox and Ottavino to Boston is my guess.
  16. Guys...PLEASE stop quoting you know who...
  17. If all the Machado threads from the past month were combined into one, it would be 7,000+ posts long. Not kidding either.
  18. This would be the biggest kick in the junk in the history of kicks in the junk.
  19. Getting rid of Happ, Schwarber, and Q just to sign Harper doesn't make the Cubs any better IMO. In fact it probably makes them significantly worse.
  20. I think Herrera would be a good signing. He's obviously familiar with the division and he's only 29 so he should have a couple good years left. He was unhittable with the Royals last year before being traded. Give him the 8th inning and move Jones to the 7th and that's suddenly a really good bullpen.
  21. Maybe a Pomeranz or Gio Gonzalez type. I'm just hoping guys like Rodon, Lopez, and Giolito all take steps forward next year because that would be huge. Nova will eat innings and do a good enough job at that. Maybe Covey or someone else will claim the #5 spot but bringing in a veteran of some kind is probably a good idea.
  22. Assuming the Sox only get 1 of the big 2, signing Machado, Pollock, and Ottavino is my ideal scenario for the rest of this offseason. Fills massive holes in 3B and CF and adds a stud at the back end of bullpen.
