  1. The pitch to contact approach just won't work for Rodon like it does for Sale. In my opinion, he needs to stop being "pretty" and start becoming more aggressive like he was at the end of last year. If his control suffers a little bit, fine. But what he's doing now isn't working and he needs to change things up before it spirals out of control. For a young pitcher, confidence is everything. Carlos needs to have a solid start tonight to build up poise and a swagger.
  2. Kris Bryant is GOAT so the Angels would have to include a couple prospects with Trout to make something work.
  3. Burns would be a fantastic #2 hitter. Imagine how many times Eaton and Burns could get on base and wreck havoc ahead of Abreu, Frazier, and Melky. Plus he could play LF which would shift Melky to DH, thus improving the defense as well.
  4. Let's get back to winning at home against the overrated f***er who stole the Cy Young from Sale last year. Go Sox!
  5. I see Burns as a poor man's Scott Podsednik, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing given the construction of the White Sox roster as it stands right now.
  6. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 16, 2016 -> 08:11 PM) Why is he more realistic than Reddick? He's younger and controlled until 2020. Because Reddick is more of an "impact" bat that could help a contending team get over the hump as a rental. Burns is good, no doubt, but his numbers aren't eye popping and he isn't flashy like Reddick.
  7. QUOTE (Deadpool @ May 16, 2016 -> 07:33 PM) What do you think we would have to offer? Not sure, but he's probably a more realistic option than Reddick at this point.
  8. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ May 16, 2016 -> 07:03 PM) Does anyone think that Oakland would make Billy Burns available. I really like where you're going with this. He's young, left handed, solid defensively, and has ridiculous speed. He'd be a great #2 hitter behind Eaton for sure.
  9. QUOTE (soxfan18 @ May 16, 2016 -> 04:05 PM) My off day boredom has led to me looking ahead with the pitchers. With Sale going on Thursday, is he closing out the DH Monday on 3 days rest? Gotta assume so. There is absolutely no reason to have Chris Sale pitch on three days rest in May.
  10. Honestly, I'm not that concerned. Every team goes through bad stretches and we knew right away that Texas/New York would be a hard road-trip. Just win 6 or 7 out of 10 at home and handle the teams in the division and things will be fine.
  11. Preston Tucker also got optioned by the Astros yesterday. I'd LOVE to have him on the Sox.
  12. Robbie Grossman might be an option for the Sox. He was just released by Cleveland. He's a switch hitter, just 26 years old, and has decent pop. He's worth a try IMO.
  13. Let Chicago White Sox or I start the game thread on Tuesday. We bring good luck.
  14. The Sox are falling back to Earth very quickly. This sucks.
  15. While the Sox have cooled down a little bit, luckily the other teams in the division have been losing consistently too. As long as the Sox can handle Cleveland, KC, Detroit, and Minnesota, the division is theirs IMO.
  16. Sale is the best pitcher in the American League and perhaps in all of baseball.
  17. Sale looks good and efficient so far. It'd be nice if he could go 7 or 8 innings tonight to rest the bullpen even more.
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 13, 2016 -> 04:49 PM) I'm not betting "the house" am I? Only if it's one of Greg's.
  19. So now the Sox have 3 lefty relievers?
  20. QUOTE (Dunt @ May 13, 2016 -> 12:13 PM) If the Sox were able to swing a trade for Braun + Lucroy, would you trade Rodon+? No way. Who would the Sox have in the rotation if he was traded? Sale, Q, question marks in Latos and Gonzalez and some scrub? Trading Rodon would make the team worse, not better IMO.
  21. Price has been complete garbage this year for me most of the time in my most important league, but at least I have Sale, Q, and Kershaw too.
