  1. Garland has owned Boston recently. But tomorrow will come down to Wakefield and his knuckleball. Tomorrow is supposed to be hot and humid..... optimal knuckleball conditions. Hopefully he isn't throwing it for a strike. Hernandez vs. Miller is a toss-up. Both can be rocked or both can be extremely effective. Contreras vs. Arroyo. Contreras should get the edge over Arroyo simply because we know Contreras can be dominant. Arroyo blows and will need a career start to be dominant to the point that we know Contreras can be. Sox should have won today. No question.
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:38 PM) CK!?!?! Where the f*** have ya been?!?! I've been lurking mostly the last few months. I've been working my ass off since about February.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) The Colorado media predicted this would happen once he got the big contract. I used to be a Uribe fan, but he seems to be a one-year wonder. It wasn't just the Colorado media
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 09:25 AM) LOL.. There you are. How was Cleveland..? Cleveland was dirty but I can't quibble about the results at the ballpark. Good trip, had fun. Thanks for the advice
  5. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 08:29 AM) Ahh, good point...I guess I'm a drunk. Rehab is for quitters
  6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:31 PM) ...........and there have to be some tired ladies nearby in similar conditions. A different one every hour on the hour
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) Oh killa.. if I didn't know ya I'd think you were an ass. Oh, I am an ass. I just like to have fun though in the process
  8. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) LMAO I think everyone kinda missed the "2003" date, didn't they? I think this was brought up cause the discrimination suit was settled yesterday. The info was in the 07/13/05 Sun-Times.
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) To me, the point of a bachelor party is for him to have 'fun' one last time without it getting him in trouble or being grounds for divorce. After he's married he can still do all the other stuff you guys are describing with no problem, so how does it make that night special? IMO Eh, whatever, ultimately it's up to the groom. It's his night, he's gotta be comfortable. If the bachelor isn't sitting up in front of a pool of his own vomit and the best man isn't cleaning it up at the end of the party (like I was w/my bro when he got hitched), then you DIDN'T PARTY HARD ENOUGH!!!!!
  10. QUOTE(Finkelstein @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) Please keep it clean, as he has made it clear that "live entertainment" is NOT an option. Forget it then. Tell him to plan his own bachelor party. You should try to make it clear to him that a bachelor party is for everyone EXCEPT the bachelor :puke
  11. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) If you actually read the article I posted you'll see that the money was already earmarked for medical research. I was going off of that information. I'll go back and add that for empathesis. If it will placate those crying foul--put it to a vote. It will pass. Or better yet, ask the research community how the money can be best spent and I'm sure they'll tell you the need for stem cell research. We have at least one poster here who does stem cll research, and I'm sure he could enlighten you as to why this is the best option, both for the state and for the furthering of our medical knowledge and ameliorating our chances of finding cures for a plethora of genetic and contagious diseases. I'm in favor of stem cell research. The problem I have with this entire deal is Blago and his constant crying, ".....that the State is broke.....", all the while he's greasing his campaign contributors pockets and cutting 'under the table' research agenda's with $$$$$ that, supposedly, the State doesn't have.
  12. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 12:44 PM) Okay this guy has no brain if he didn't know the political allegiances of these tourists. Maybe he had "no brain" but he definitely had balls. Move the shop over here to Chicago and I'd be a regular at his place .
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 06:11 AM) Whether you believe stem cell research is right or wrong, Blago's techniques here were at very least a gross misuse of power, and I await all of the ethical screamings that accompanied the samething from the other side of the aisle.
  14. Funny. Blago continually tells his State workers the State is broke but he's finding millions for stem cell research and salt dome pressure washing contracts to contributors to his campaign. Let's not forget the millions he's earmarked to his wife so that she can organize flower planting areas along the State's highways..... flowers that DIE every winter from the salt spray of vehicles traveling well in excess of the 55 MPH posted speed limit. f*** "Blag-daddy" and his stem cell research :finger
  15. QUOTE(drowninginflame @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 02:19 AM) Kudos to that guy for trying, serisouly. I couldn't tolerate it though, I turned it off I heard it was pretty brutal. The true test of the song is use '03 Cub footage instead of '05 Sox footage and see if it's still tolerable. I'll bet it's far from tolerable but it must rule cause it deals with the Sox :rolly

    AJ

    The gesture is nice but I had a bottle of Dom once and I must say it sucked ass. Total waste of $250 (I think that's what it cost at the time).
  17. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) The guy is coming back from major ankle surgery. He needs a day or two off. Not to mention Everett has earned a starters spot and has been clutch all season.
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) You know...I just thought of something. The press reports on this bombing keep saying that the bombs were probably about 10 pounds each, and were made up of high explosives. Where exactly in this world would a terrorist get their hands on high explosives? Military style demolition stuff? Either stolen from or sold to by a country(s) having economic, security, and/or inventory problems, i.e., Russia, North Korea, African warlords, etc.
  19. NUKE..... Why do you even attempt to sway those here that think that the US is the most barbaric and inhumane country ever? I mean, c'mon. Common sense went out the door years ago with the few radicals on this board. Like radical islamo-facists, they cannot be dealt with reasonably. Do as I do now..... ignore them. Life is good when the Sox are 31 games above .500, the Cubs are pushing the panic button, and SoxTalk is getting shout-outs from Hawk and DJ. Don't waste your time trying to deal with the few here that make SOXTALK their political bully pulpit. You're just feeding the monster within. I know, for a fact, that if you just ignore them, they will cease to post their ridiculous BS because they will not get the desired reaction out of you. No matter what you post, you will ALWAYS be wrong and they will ALWAYS be right. For every point you make, they'll make a point to counter. Thus, a vicious cycle. Just let it go. It's not worth it.
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:32 AM) But I thought no one went to Sox games??? Exactly. Now all the posters here that b****ed about attendance in April in May will be b****ing about not being able to get good seats for games in July, August, and September. Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it. While it's good to see the Sox FINALLY drawing fans to USCF (and the team DESERVES sell-outs), I liked it when no one went to USCF for games except the diehards. No lines, easy parking, easy exit after the game, 2 minutes or less wait for a s***ter, etc.....
  21. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 06:49 AM) Are you so blinded by things that you can't possibly see the hypocrisy in this? It's funny how narrow-minded you become when it suits a "liberal" organization. Once a liberal, always a liberal. Same can be said for conservatives. Just as long as everything fits their one sided way of seeing everything politically.
  22. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) Blah to Floyd man, QUIET RIOT IS TOURING WITH FIREHOUSE!!!

    Andy Rooney

    Whoever wrote those pieces (obviously not left-wingers like Carlin and Rooney..... and I enjoy George Carlin, even saw him once at Bally's in Vegas), truer words have never been spoken..... in both cases (Elia's Cub fan rant not withstanding). Bill Cosby's recent rambling's have been right on too.
  24. QUOTE(Yossarian @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) I thought Alabama was a tough on crime state. Nobody beats Texas.
